If we do stay at #25, there is absolutely no way, as in, nearly a sure bet, that we take a RB in the first round. It simply will not happen. DE, NT, or CB.

So wouldn't the side arguing that we won't pick him win, Mr. Mangini?

Pittman could probably fall to the 3rd or 4th...

why would he fall that far? what are you basing this on? I may be reaching by saying first, but he wont pass the early second. Im still laughing at TE in the first round.

First, we need an Offensive line for the RB to run behind. We should draft a potential upgrade between rounds 1-2 and maybe sign a RT in free agency. Or vice versa...

And once the offensive line gets upgraded and we acquire a blocking FB, which we are expected to do I hear, Leon Washington and Cedric Houston can be the main guys in the offense at RB IMO.

I agree, Huston and Washington should be given an opportunity toi run behind a decent line before we make a determination that they can not cut it.

Houston and Washington are not the long term answer. It should be addressed in the first 3 rounds. agreed?

I like both Pittman and Darius Walker in the second, MAYBE third if we want to try and squeeze them out, but no back is doing anything behind this horrible run blocking offensive line. We have a hole at right tackle, and will soon have a hole at left guard in the near feature and maybe right guard if the staff doesn't like Brandon Moore. Nothing would help more then some mauling guards, and then a back like Walker/Pittman in the second.

Whoever in this thread says we need to draft an offensive player should start watching the Jets games. Does it really matter who is on offense if you cannot stop the run whatsoever?

We need a big fullback to block for our runners. Thats what we need. Especielly since we let BJ go. Where ever that fits in, thats what needs to happen.

Marshawn Lynch had same amount of carries, 6.1 avg, 11 TD's Pittman 13 TD's 5.1 avg. Both ran a 4.4 40 but Lynch weighs 10 lbs more. Pittman played in bigger games with more talent around him, I just dont see how Lynch is rated so much higher. Im not even a Ohio State fan, I just think Pittman is under rated, if we steal him in the second round, id be happy. O-line in first, pass rusher in FA, rb in second, then fill in.

Not even close. Leon Washington is a game changer and could be a Brian Westbrook/Willie Parker/Tiki Barber type runner. We should see how he does this year before going for a big-time RB.

Plus, Houston is a very tough runner with good moves and a great burst.

Just give them a better blocking unit....

Yet for years, our defense has kept us in playoff games, when our offense does damn near nothing but turn the ball over. We do need defensive help at d-end, and possibly a rushbacker which could be cleared up in free agency, but our problem lies on the offensive side of the ball and the fact that we cannot control the ball for shit. The only position that we can change right now on defensive is end and outside linebacker, because we're pretty much locked in everywhere else but corner which I do not see as a need. Money factors in, and our problem stopping the run last year was having out OLB keep contain so our ILB can flow to the ball. We can't change our ILB's at this point, and we just signed one of our OLB to a five year deal. So we're locked up both financially and physically.

Call me Mr. Mangini all you want.

Why don't you put your money where your mouth is? I'll bet you the Jets take a DE, DT, OG, OT, or CB with thier first pick. You want a piece of this action?

LOL Serious risk you are taking here.......... That this FO would take a combine warrior TE that underachieved on the field over the glaring weakness on D-Line or O-Line/ 2nd. Cb etc. etc etc.. Give me 1000-1 odds and I bet you a buck.

Not a chance. He may be overrated, but not that much. He is going to be a solid RB in this league, and his skills are amazing. He did not get all that hype when he was in OSU because of the "other" big names like Ted Gin, and Troy Smith. This kid can play, and he had an amazing combine. He is surely ahead of guys like Booker, Irons, and Leonard.

I am sorry but I was pretty positive it was our D that came to form midseason, and our offense that sputtered in the end? I could've swore our D was one of the better D's at the end of the year, and when they finally learned Mangini's 3-4 it showed hands down.

Crazy... I probably should go get my eyes checked.

Now if our Offense pulls the same stuff as they did at the end of the year, then we better have a very solid D. So maybe we should get some more D help, and just forget about Offense all together. That way when our offense only puts up 10 points a game, we'll still win because our defense will have to shutdown everyone. Good Call.

  20. Only thing about Dallas is they also have a need at RT where Marc Columbo is pegged to be an FA and frankly wasnt great to begin w/. They'll most likely go w/ an OT as that presents better value than taking an OG in round 1. Levi Brown may have fallen out of the top 15 w/ his poor 40 and Tony Ugoh may have raised his stock w/ a great combine...either one of those guys could be an option for them at 22, which may cause Blalock to slip to us at 26.
