So in 1977 Hess became the owner of the Jets. Before that it was a part owner which means he was an investor. A few people bought a piece of the Yanks but the Steinbrenners own the Yanks. And I thought was a terrible owner, but I did not hate him because he wanted to win and $ was not an issue.

Nice backtracking. If he bought out Werblin's shares in 68, good chance he was majority owner when they won, since Werblin was the frontman beforehand.

let's say he was majority owner in 1968? he gets credit for the SB? the team was built already, it was like Daniel Snyder buying the Redskins in 1999 then making the playoffs- did Snyder deserve credit? of course not and from 1969-1999 we only made the playoffs 7 more times w/ only 4 more playoff wins. Since Woody bought the team in 2000 the Jets have made it 6 times and have 6 playoff wins.

What a surprise. I didn't win Super Bowl tickets. I didn't want to go anyway but it would be nice after 33 yrs. to win something

So what they are still losers because they have not won the VLT during Woody tenure so what is the value of those 6 POs wins?

When Hess bought out Wberlin 25% ownership of the team he then owned 50% of the team which I guess makes him majority shareholder right? There were 2 other partners who own each 25% of the team who Hess eventually bought our giving him 100% ownership of the team. There names were Townsend & Martin

He became majority owner in 1973, he had nothing to do with our Super Bowl or made any decisions till 1973.

Some fool is trying to sell a Commissioner's Club Suite (20 tickets) for $850K.

Not sure what the highest ever price paid for a ticket is on stubhub but I think it's about 10K. People ask for the moon all the time but they never get it.

I'm wondering how low the super bowl tickets will go. 3 weeks ago get in the door was $3800, now it's $2500. If there's any sort of rain in the forecast prices will dump.

I personally don't have much desire to pay typical prices to go see a super bowl in person. Even if prices dumped to under $500 I don't think I would even buy at the price. I would need to get a ticket for under $200 to consider

Yep, his claim to being a billionaire has always been a fraud. The guy was never a billionaire. He may have reached a controlling stake in a billion of assets but what does that matter if he's a billion in debt? He's definietly been raking it in lately from The Apprentice and rising real estate values in Manhattan, but the guy is far far FAR from being a billionaire. Every 4 years he jumps up and down to pretend he's running for president then everyone forgets about him again for the next 4 years
