I was shocked that Chicago nabbed him with the 14th pick. I would have bet the farm that he would be in the pool of players we would have to choose from at 18. Got to give the Bears credit for recognizing Fuller was better than a late first round prospect as many projected. Whats great about him is that he is not scheme dependent; he get it done in man or zone coverage.
Anyone with half a brain knows. You need to watch more college football games. What a stupid @ss statement right there.
Just like all the pro scouts that said leaf was better then manning right? Brady was drafted in the 7th round..Stupid statement is stupid...
You name one example of a monumental collapse of a mentally fragile player (which was a con from scouts before he was drafted). Anyone that has seen Polamalu or Reed play in college, you could see that skill. Imagine how much better this team would of been with either of those players at safety for 10+ years.
Actually you can look at the first round in any draft in the modern era. Most dudes don't last 5 years. Strait trash. Fuck what you do in college. In college geno looked all world. Heisman candidate. Not so much now eh? Ill even give you another example closer to home: AA being drafted in the 7th round. In college Mike Sam was sec dpoy..in college J'walrus Russle was a beast...drafted 1 overall...now he eats donuts for a living. The list goes on and on...
No, he didnt. I take it you must of watched just one game (Baylor) and the other ones before that with bad competition. When Geno faced better competition in the Big 12, he didnt look that great and came crashing back down to earth. He still had a good college career but nothing of a sure thing for most people. If he did, he would of went in round 1. Regardless, those 2 players were special players. A lot of people drafted in the first round these days are really or miss and even projects in some cases. Anyone watching Reed on that Miami could tell his instincts there are just second to none. He had instincts you cant even teach. Same with Troy.
This Jets team fires me up.. I want us to win now and we're capable if only we had another good corner and wide receiver. I just don't think Idzik put enough value into winning this season and putting the best team on the field. I think he did that to keep more options open in the future. I think he could've overpaid for a Verner or Vontae Davis but he would rather wait a year to find the best guy on the right deal. We could've added another WR who could've been an upgrade over Nelson/Hill/Salas that made us better this season, but why overpay a Golden Tate when we can probably get a really good WR with our first round pick this offseason or sign best one available. Idzik's an unpredictable guy who's sticking to his "master plan of building this team" like he was a part of back in Seattle. This $20 million roll over cap space is going to be no joke next off season..all options will be open. Rex deserves to be the guy coaching this team next season if he's going along with this rebuilding program. You can't be mad at Rex we're not going to have a top 5 defense when there's not anywhere near the talent we used to have there and the only reason we lose is getting beaten by the air. Im sure feeling nostgalic to the days of Revis and Cromartie when we knew we had the best corners in the league and everyone would bench their top WR's in fantasy football because they were visiting Revis Island.
Certainly agree that JI is unpredictable. Please hope his master plan includes some lucky fortune cookie lol. Is the only reason we lose is because we "get beat by the air"?? How about playing Vick sooner rather than later because Geno and his throws make me gasp.

AA was a stud in college though. Not sure why he dropped to the 7th round. Maybe it's because he was a man without a position. I did a mock the year he came out where I had us taking him in the 3rd.
It was hard to project Allen coming out of school. The position he played is not played in pro defenses. He didn't run a fast enough 40 to project as a CB or FS and he hadn't actually played much strong safety in college, just a position that overlaps with strong safety in many respects. Obviously he plays faster than his 40 and he is a good tackler on the edge. He looks like a solid possibility at CB at this point.
Yup. I was expecting him to go no lower than the 4th and when he was still sitting there in the 6th with all the picks we had I was a bit vocal at my TV and then the 7th with those 2 picks I was a bit more than vocal. One of those times we got a guy late that I was really hoping for. _
Allen was a real steal. He might be the teams best tackler, or at least has a case. Opposite of Stephen Hill. He's not a mega athlete, he's a football player.
