I cried the next week, fuck you Bart Scott for going off and letting us down with that shitty first half defense against Pittsburgh. So many emotions those 2 years, we had a shot to make it and win the Super Bowl. If only we didn't fall apart
One of my all time post game interview. Bart Scott bought a toughness to the Jets. He was Rex first free agent signing. Rex was outside his house at 12:01.
my Sandy Eggo buddy still says "cant wait" to me on occasion when he means hes looking forward to something..... doing the voice...
I'm normally a pure hardass in terms of no celebrating, be classy, blah blah blah. I would've tolerated Rex spiking a football in Belichick's fucking face that night.
And 11 years ago today, we beat the 13-3 Chargers in San Diego. At the time, it made me think we were a team of destiny. Reality struck hard a week later.
The Jets were one stop away. I swear to this day that if Sanchez had gotten the ball back, he was going to take the Jets down the field and send them to the Super Bowl. That 3rd down conversion killed me. The whole season I thought no matter what happened, the Jets would win it all. The amount of crazy things that happened that year were insane: Hard Knocks, Revis holdout, Braylon Edwards DUI, Favre Pics, Jets harass news reporter in locker room, 45-3, Sal Alosi tripping Miami player, etc.
