I don’t really get why the Yanks don’t go out and try to grab Alonso on a big 2-year deal or something. You have the best player in baseball with maybe a year or two left on his prime. I get that they want to get in on Vlad next year but I think Alonso would do it for the right price. Especially to stick it to the Mets who he probably feels (right or wrong, not defending it) have dicked him.

So, we have lost cole(big surprise), Stanton, and Gil….. and they were just gonna roll with it? I mean, I do hope this finally pushes them toward learning to develope and use the young guys. But that a lot of loss to the rotation. Stanton, whatever. He was great last offseason, but how long did we have to wait for him to actually show up, and what were the chances he repeats that performance. I guess he will be back, so we will see.
