What does Ernie Adams have to do with any of this? Unclear role with the Patriots, spygate happens, therefore Ernie Adams was the guy behind it all?

Goodell stated in his presser today that when Walsh was done recording a tape he would mark it and hand it off to Ernie Adams, so I guess I was pretty close. He's the Patriots' head tape geek. There's been plenty of print on him in the past year.

Did he specify whether or not this happened during the game?

Arlen spector isn't going to do anything. The best he can do is try to go after the limited exemption and he will never get the backing of the rest of the committee.

Of course he didn't. This is Roger Goodell we're talking about.

I remember getting the same attitude from Pats fans before you lost a 1st rounder and Belicheat got the largest coaching fine possible.

Belly knew that his taping was illegal, and did it anyway

Remember all of the Belly spin about "misinterpretation" of the rules regarding taping? According to Walsh, that was and is a lie. Color me shocked:

Goodell: Walsh, Pats knew taping was improper

    May 13, 2008 2:21 PM

    Posted by ESPN.com's Mike Sando

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell continued to reject Bill Belichick's contention that the Patriots simply misinterpreted the rule banning teams from taping coaching signals. Goodell said this point came across clearly during his meeting with former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh.

"It was very clear that he had to be careful that nobody discovered what he was doing. That he was very cautious about when he did it, who was watching, and there were certain places he did not get access. A lot of teams said, 'We're not going to allow another camera up here on the third level or the end zone level. Matt believes they believe they were well aware of the fact that this was something that shouldn't be done." -- Goodell

According to Goodell, Walsh told him that Patriots video director Jimmy Dee was the person who told Walsh to be careful about not getting caught, and that Dee was the person Walsh dealt with directly. "Once in a while, I guess Ernie Adams would give him some instructions, but it was very infrequent," Goodell said.

At the N.F.L. scouting combine, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, when asked if the videotaping rule could be misinterpreted, said, ?The rules are very, very clear.?

Of course, Jeff Fisher ain't no genius.

Schlereth also surprisingly brought up a good point [that wasn't location on top of his head] when I was waiting for Goodell to come on earlier. If the Pats were using the tapes to research teams they would meet later in the season or in the playoffs, and not for in-game advantages, why were they taping the Pittsburgh AFCC game? They would not see the Steelers again until at least the next season after an entire offseason of signal changes and scheme adjustments and new personnel.

Because they used it in the games, any NFL fan that watches football knows that the Pats always had an answer in the second half of games. Every game they always seem to be a different team in the second half....amazing. The answer is there, just gotta read between the lines. The joke is on us, the fans.

Did we watch the same Roger Dodger presser? Didn't he say that they weren't used in games? Maybe I missed something ... If you recall, the year following the 2001, Pitt was the first game of the year .. Please link where that answer is, because clearly I missed something ..
