Usually this story would be so outlandish as to be laughed off the page. But this season we watched one of the most storied meltdowns in the history of a franchise that is known for storied meltdowns. Not the entire story. Every lie must have some elements of truth. But the juiciest parts - like Madden, like benching Rodgers, they are made up. But here is another thing, John Simpson had bad Madden rating. And they spin it as Woody was against it, but JD signed him anyway. Simpson was signed on the 1st day of free agency. Yet Jeudy, who said it was fake news, he had to drop when the deal was almost done. Come on, this is very clearly JD spinning it. If Woody didn't like people due to Madden rating, Simpson would not be our day 1 signing. So JD convinced him to get Simpson on the 1st day of free agency but could convince him to complete Jeudy trade when it was almost there and abruptly exit? Please. As far as other people's names there, I watched Blatt's podcast when the 1st story came out, the guy didn't even want to own it. He didn't even own up the name of the article, JD didn't stand a chance or something like that. Either way, doesn't matter what name is there, it's the same source (hola, JD) . And it is doing damage to us fans.
Explain JD convincing Woody to get Simpson who had poor Madden rating as the very first FA signing. Explain Woody not wanting to spend any new money, but extending Carter for 30 mil. Explain wanting to bench Rodgers, but then not doing it even when he was playing even worse.

Perhaps, I just don't think the crux aspects of the story are believable, and I found huge contradictions. Like the switch from earlier "one source in the room" to current "Jets spokesperson" (never actually heard from by anyone else), not agreeing to a trade due to Madden ratings, but then signing the guy as the very 1st free agent with bad Madden rating, not waiting to resign Huff like JD wanted (ya right) because not spending new money, yet signing Carter for 30 mil, benching Rodgers, who never got benched even with worse play and actually trading for his friend. The list goes on and on. I know Woody is a dumb ass, and largely because he didn't fire JD and Saleh on time, but why disparage his kids like that? That bitch will do anything to get the clicks, always after this shock story in spite of or clearly biased sources (que pasa, JD), and it comes at the bad time of us needing to find a good GM and Coach.
