The New York Jets released WR/KR Albert Johnson and signed RB/KR Michael Bates. Bates is 33 years old, a 10-year veteran, who has played for Seattle, Cleveland, Carolina and Washington. In 1996-97 Michael Bates led the NFL in kickoff returns.
