Ok boys it’s go time. Just got home flicked on Patriots highlights and oh dear Mac Jones looks Efficient first few plays I watched.

So here’s the spot for it. Not just the big 5 from the first round. Thoughts on what we see from everyone. News stories, Twitter updates, unsubstantiated opinions. The whole 9 let’s put it in here to get a thread about whether we took the right guy with the 2nd pick or not. The best way to rate our guy is to rate all the guys. They all could’ve been ours except for that long blonde pretty boy that got put out of range by the Marlboro Man. Oh well one for another I guess.

You know at least one of these guys is going to turn their team into a perennial contender. You guys know where I am I say Zach is the ticket, let’s hear where you’re at too!

This thread has potential for disaster. Good luck!

If this thread existed in 2019, it would have been devoted to lamenting how Daniel Jones was going to be the next big thing for the Giants.

Ewww I was laughing so hard at that bum. I tried talking myself back into Sam after I saw Josh Allen but my heart wasn’t totally in it. Hey it’ll be fun to hear why Trey Lance is the next best thing for a few weeks anyway until that one nosedives. I mean sure he’s never thrown a pass over 9 yards in his life but that arm talent tho!

I want this thread to have everything. Train wrecks good prognostication and everything in between.

Fields looked lost against the backups and then absolutely lit it up vs street bums. I'm sure the national narrative will be that he is the second coming.

My assessment of him hasn't changed. He has the potential to be a FQB but he really needs to get through his reads faster. And his throwing motion is long.

Ok so Mac Jones was about what I expected. Got a few wide open throws early and found the guy standing in there. Didn’t feel pressure well a couple times, forced in a couple balls that could’ve been picked off and threw one off target. His numbers were good but no TDs and it looks like he has a lot to work on though there are some reasons to respect his ability at first glance.

dead on. Was surprised he looked that bad against the 2s. I know he’s not as nfl ready as the others but wow. Then he wants to run every single play against the scrubs.

    good thread idea...
i saw "hilites" so, i saw Mac look pretty efficient, get stripped once. i think his mobility level will be a hindrance atthis level.
wont matter ifthey let them hold like they did for TB12
havent yet laid eyes on any of the Justin Fields reel

Good thread. Now if you can add Zach to the thread title to make sure people understand this is the thread to discuss Zach and Rookie QB's that would be awesome :)

    @legler82 @bicketybam @Noam @REVISion @ColoradoContrails @cval @ouchy @NCJetsfan @FJF @Jonathan_Vilma @LAJet

let's use this thread to discuss Zach and other Rookie's and leave the Training Camp thread alone. Are we cool? :)

It's going to be hard to separate talking about Wilson from virtually any thread my man. But as far as the others that makes sense.

I know JV. Difficult but let's leave the Training Camp thread to discuss what happened at the practice. If we end up discussing Zach's throws in the camp etc in the Camp Thread, it is fine. But let's discuss Zach versus other QB's in this thread as much as we can.

Couldn’t disagree more. He had a shaky potentially horrific 3rd series where he fumbled a low snap on 1st down. On 2nd down he threw off his back foot across the middle. This almost led to a tip drill INT. Then he finished off the possession by having the ball stripped while fighting for extra yards on 3rd down. Luckily he was able to recover his own fumble. Everything else was as advertised including a 2 minute drill drive before the half for a FG, & a couple 2nd half TDs by land and air while completing 70% of his passes. He proved he’s at least better than the back ups which is better sucking against back ups.

Tray Lance I believe will be the best QB of this class, and is being put in a good position to succeed.

the small school Lance doubters sound a lot like the Josh Allen and Carson Wentz haters. 2 other QBs I loved heading into the draft.

Both Mac Jones and Zach Wilson will be in very QB friendly offenses as well, but I’m not convinced starting either day 1 is the right decision.
Will see how preseason plays out.

Lon said he came on vs the bums. If the good drives started against the 2s then you can chalk it up to nerves but he definitely started real bad and ended real good vs 3s backpedaling 10 yds to end zone because nobody is within shouting distance.

there were things to build on but definitely not an All Pro start

yeah and how do you explain the fact that he never threw a real nfl down field pass in college? You think the 2 yard screen check down outlets are going to work in the pros?

    love this

I watched like 3 games that’s what I saw didn’t bother with the rest because he wasn’t running an nfl offense. His stats are a complete joke on downfield throws. Look them up post them and then explain how he’s going to completely reinvent himself.

1st drive in 2nd quarter was derailed by penalties. 2nd drive WRs couldn’t beat tight man coverage. Fields still tried to fit in throws but good coverage/poor separation won out. 3rd drive Fields looked not ready for prime time like I said w/ shaky ball protection. 4th drive was an under a minute scoring drive for FG before half. 3rd quarter looked like Fields at OSU. 4th quarter helmet off cap on done for the day.

Jets fans unimpressed; Bears fans buying their airline tickets to Cali, site of the next Super Bowl, early. Funny how that works. LOL
