Game 1: Joba Chamberlain (0-0, 5.06) vs Jon Lester (1-2, 5.50) Game 2: A.J. Burnett (2-0, 3.20) vs Josh Beckett (2-1, 3.79) Game 3: Andy Pettitte (2-0, 2.53) vs Justin Masterson (1-0, 3.18) Should be good games. Some things to watch... Friday: Does Chamberlain throw at Youkilis again? Does Lester build off his last start or regress back to his first two? Saturday: Best pitching matchup of the series, two former teammates who have both been strong so far. Sunday: The best matchup for the Yankees pitching-wise. The Sox bullpen will probably need to go at least 4 innings.
......awaiting for dwalsh to create the game thread so I can post in there since he's on a good streak.
Yankees vs. Red Sox, 4/24-4/26 Game 1: Joba Chamberlain vs. Jon Lester Game 2: A.J. Burnett vs. Josh Beckett Game 3: Andy Pettitte vs. Justin Masterson This series should be a solid pitchers duel, but last time I said that it turned into a slugfest. In all seriosness, first game could go either way, but I give the edge to the Sox. Games 2 and 3 I like the Yankees chances, and can see the Yanks taking 2 of 3. Please, all Yankee fans, lets use this thread, ignore Devilonthetownhall's, and mods, please don't merge, let that one die on its own.
You know, Beckett's "suspension" actually hurt the Yankees. Joba pitches the day before, so if Beckett decides to do a little head-hunting, we don't have someone on the mound to retaliate.
Probably 90% of the board are New Yorkers. There are far more Yankees fans who are Jets fans than there are Jets/Sox fans. Hell, even Mets fans don't like Boston. And you're not a NY fan at all. Posting on a New York team's board when you're not at all a NY team fan is gay. Like super, flaming, hot pants gay.
If we're carrying over old scores, I think Joba's past work on Youkilis has the Red Sox owing a knockdown or two.
But if we're really carrying over old scores, we'd have to start bringing Pedro into the conversation.
We're REALLY going to be screwed, though, if Joba pitches like his last outing. We won't know if he's throwing at people intentionally, or just can't find the plate again.
You cannot be serious? all the years Sox pitchers have been hitting and knocking down our hitters and you are complaining about Joba? i don't agree w/ joba throwing near Youk's head but your guys have been owed for years and I lie to see our pitchers defend our hitters. I know Joba and Burnett will.
Even Ortiz is bitching about Joba. Shouldn't he worry about getting his OPS within 300 points of Nick Green before worrying about where other pitchers should throw the ball?
Noone has enough ABs to qualify, I meant I looked up greens OPs and was suprised it was so high, then his slugging.
Since your not even a Jets fan, here you will forever be a visitor. Fuck your stupid "home team" theory.
