http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3109894 This kills me. Don must be terrified. By the way, if teams are saying they won't negotiate if your agent is in the room, maybe it's time to change representation. Just a thought.
Why would I be terrified about the greatest player in the game, just hitting his best years, coming back?
Yeah, that's pretty weird. Maybe he assumes that you'd be opposed to the astronomical salary that should result. The thing is, while I can somewhat understand (though still disagree) with your stance on believing Mo and Jorge are getting overpaid, I think we both agree there is no price too high for Alex.
Well, players like Arod and Santana are the players I believe they should be spending their money on. People who can help them through the entire length of their contracts (although we will have to see what those contract are). I just think the terms and money being alloted to Posada and Rivera is extravegant and something George would have done in his heyday.
Don't worry it ain't happening, you think Boras will let Arod talk to Hal and Hank without being present?
Well even if he does you know Boras will try and make him wear a wire or something... or maybe he hires a Patriots scout to work in Tampa for a day. He may not be his mother but it seems like he's pretty damn close.
It's pretty interesting. Boras has really pissed off the Yankees once too often. He needs the Yankees, way more then they need him. He always uses them to drive up the price of his players and he was trying to do that with Arod too. Now he is on the verge, although I don't think it has happened yet, of having the Yankees say they will never deal with him again. There are already a lot of owners in baseball that have taken that position so the Yankees wouldn't be the first by a long shot. That's why I think he lets Arod do what he wants this time.
For the record, I thought Don would shudder at the thought of the salary. My bad. I think A-Rod's just trying to get some competition going, but who knows.
A player negotiating directly with ownership is like going to court w/o a lawyer or like banging Paris Hilton w/o a condom.
Should we dump all the chokers then? Wang Jeter Abreu It's silly to not want ARod back. Read the article I posted in one of the other ARod threads.
It doesn't matter. The point is, the Yankees didn't win the World Series for two reasons. 1) Boston was superior to every other team. 2) The entire team collapsed as soon as the calendar said October. Notice neither reason is: ARod sucks in the postseason. No, Jeter does not deserve an excessive amount of blame, but then again, neither does Alex Rodriguez. That's the only point I was trying to make.
You serious? A-Rod has done nothing in the post season especially for the money he was getting. Regular season means nothing, if you can't produce in the playoffs. GOOD RIDDANCE!
