This is a flash in the pan , wait till next week and the week after and the week after that , good Ds are going to key into the fact that we have absolutely NO running game. Shoot me down , but I don't drink Kool aid and know that yes this is a good (important) road win, But hey alot of us are thinking anything over 4 wins will be an improvement , well theres one.
One big relief was that the D seem to have coped quite well to the transition to 3-4

    QUOTE OF THE YEAR.

JESUS CHRIST OP, GO TROLL SOME OTHER FORUM, HOW CAN PEOPLE WANT THE JETS TO DO POORLY -- HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A FAN.

This team is a work in progress they will get better, today is a win no one expected.

It is nice to start out on a positive note on the first game of the season. I am with you though, that there is a lot more work to be done before we can contend with the heavy hitters of the AFC. New England next week should give us a better measuring stick than a team (Tenn) that was about as equally crappy as us.

Gus's post was simply a reality check. People on here tend to be extreme bi-polar with wins/losses. We win they swing wide and high, and when we lose they eat each other like freaking cannibals. We beat a crappy team - barely. Yay us!

I am too,and it's quite a contrast between opponents. But you never know what can happen. NObody expected Chad to play that well and have that confidence. With a win today, you never know what can happen next week. if we lost,we would know for sure we lose next week. One week at a time. I'll enjoy this til we lose

Obviously no one here is going to start talking Super Bowl. But they played well today and at least tucked away a game that was winnable.

Those were a lot of plusses and minuses today, but the plusses are by far the most encouraging

Yeah, looking forward to the drama in that. Hopefully, Mangini will be able to help us out there having worked for his mentor for so many years. Maybe be able to see things coming and during the game be able to adjust to what they do.

He had to play for his career. I'm glad that he didn't pick up an injury and that the O line have to all purposes jelled quickly

Gus, u acting like Mangini doesnt notice the same thing. He'll put a lot of his focus on improving the running game. He might start Barlow over Blaylock. If Washington is better he'll get a few carries. Mangini and Shott might create some more running plays. Bottom line is there are ?'s about our running game but have trust and faith in our coaching staff that they'll fix the problem. For now, have a beer and enjoy this great win. Jets, baby!!!

So we can win ugly every game then. It doesn't matter we beat a bad team. Most of our players plays great. That can bleed over.

Actually,we outplayed them dominantly. It was only close due to a fumble near the goal and the kicker missing chip shots. otherwise,we kick their asses good. I understand a reality check, but there was a lot to be excited about in this game, especially for a new regime. We only get 16 games, nothing wrong with enjoying the ones we can. Noboday has gone overboard with any superbowl nonsense, just praise of those who deserve some.

No, they played well enough to win. They didn't play well. The problem here is mediocracy is acceptable and is the quick fix drug , well I don't buy it , and nor will Mangini. Whilst he will be happy with the win he will not be happy with pointless execution and lack of commitment.
