I really think that Dyson will be given a starting spot and there will be a truly open competition for the other side between Miller and Barrett. Something makes me hope Miller wins it....

Mangini could use J-Mill like Eugene Wilson and put him at safety...Miller can hit.

I'd rather him stay at corner...but it could happen.

Dyson and Miller, although that's just what I'm hoping for. Mangini won't play favorites like Herm, he will play the best guys for the job.

Dyson as the #1 and Miller as the #2. Miller will be the better CB at some point in his career, just not this year IMO. Barrett will be a helluva back up and nickel back...

I think they will be the best for the job in the end, but maybe Barrett will bring it this TC...

Mangini is the coach now, he might like to use multiple looks with defensive backs...he sure used alot of guys with New England.

I'm not sure who's going to start but it will really help our defense having 3 good cornerbacks. I'm hoping that Miller earns one of the starting spots and Barret and Dyson have to battle it out for the other spot.

It will be Dyson and Barrett.

Barrett is actually a very good #2 corner, he just needs help against really good recievers. Last season he didn't have that because of all of the holes in the defense--our pass rush and linebackers weren't protecting him. But the results he put up in a quality defense in 2004 speak for themselves.

I agree with that, but I think Miller's talent will really surface this season. I think it will be a tight competition...

I think he's going to mix it up, really. Find the best matchups for his schemes.

But opening day.. Man to man covering.. Dyson and Barrett. Miller has time to develop, and I think he will become elite one day. He has to learn though.

Why do people all of the sudden think Miller is ready? He looked lost at times last year, I'm not saying he doesn't have the talent or ability. But I just don't think we can pencil him next to Dyson as the sure #2 yet.

Miller is only 22, Barrett and Dyson are getting close to 30 and have a lot of starting experience, definitely those two start. But yeah, another year or two and Miller will be our starter if not our #1.

You know what really excites me about this new regime? The fact that we won't know who the starting CBs will be. Not because they will keep it secret (thought they will), but because they won't even know until probably August. It's all about who does best in camp.

Under Herm we'd have known that Barrett and Dyson were the starting corners (based soley on experience) a week before Dyson even signed.

I think it will have to be Dyson and Miller. Miller might be pushed back down because I'd bet Barrett is more dependable early on, but I think the the CS has got to want Dyson and Miller back there.

Dyson is 26 years old right now and won't be 27 until May...That's not really getting close to 30, but you are right about him having experience.

Run some 3-3-5 and have the third CB blitz or a safety blitz...it's good to have solid depth
