I looked before the season and it didn't look like we would but now it looks like we will get a 4th. I think releasing Jenkins helped with the formula.
We signed Forte in Free Agency, so it may cancel out some of the loss of Snacks, or at least reduce the comp pick to a late rd. You have to take into account your signings too, not just your losses (Snacks). It will be based on the amount of the signing, playing time etc.
Does it make that much of a difference when one guy was a first team all-pro and the other was very average (if that)?
Playing time is a factor, when they went on IR, so I think we will get a comp pick, I'm not expecting a 3rd or 4th like some people believe. I think a 5th or 6th Rd pick is more likely. we will have to wait till the end of March/early April when they're announced. The comp pick formula is one the most convoluted processes in the NFL.
Yep, we lost Snacks, Ivory & Demario Davis and signed Forte, McLendon and Jenkins. The question is if we dropped Jenkins in time. If we lose a 3rd or 4th rounder to sign Jenkins that is a big embarrassment for Mac. Hopefully we dropped him in time.
Jenkins was cut 4 days prior to week 10 removing him from the equation used to determine compensatory picks Per over the caps new updates, the Jets will receive a 4th round pick for Harris Jenkins was released just prior to week 10 so he was released just in time Nov. 9th I believe. Per over the cap. We are in line to receive a 4 th round pick for Harrison. http://overthecap.com/projecting-2017-compensatory-draft-picks/
