Prepare your self for a shit festival... No.. He won't learn to catch... The real question is how the fuck he made it into the NFL not knowing how to catch when catching is the main god damn thing you have to do at the position he plays.
^^ x2 he's not going to all the sudden be able to catch the ball, that comes natural. Perfecting route running, getting off the jam, recognizing coverages, ect are things you can change. It was an awful pick and this is his last chance to prove worthy of a spot before moving on.
Good thing all the reports out of camp are that he's impressed. Just keep on bashing the guy for wearing green and white. Makes sense.
These are not Hill claiming growth, This is Mehta and Costello ( both big critics of his/NYJ ) and his WR coach making observations. Regardless what's the point of this thread/poll. it adds nothing and there's already a thread discussing all of this.
I hope Hill is productive this year. But for what it's worth last year we heard positive things about Hill throughout offseason workouts. And we all saw how that worked out. I'm just hoping that with 2 years of NFL experience under his belt he's at least able to be CONSISTENTLY productive.
I don't think Hill will have a career arc like Sanchez's. We may know as soon as camp whether he's going to even be on the roster opening day, meaning he may not be.
The unfair comparison for Hill is that we traded up and chose him over Alshon Jeffrey. It also didn't help that he had an awesome rookie debut and then fell off completely. I don't think anyone hates him but there's a time to move on from his "great potential" I say he has one more year to prove worthy. It's not like any of us are hoping for him to fail were just being realistic.
It's not unfair to be angry that the FO missed pretty close on Jeffery when they chose Hill, not at all. It's unfair to hate Hill for where he was drafted, because he had no control over that. But the Jets spent a pretty high pick at a position of dire need and that guy has done almost nothing to justify it. That's what happens when you root for the laundry, you see a non working part of the body of the team and you want it replaced with something better. It's not a personal thing, although some fans try to make it personal either defending him or criticizing him. Fact is that he hasn't been ready and it hurt the team.
What a lazy ass OP. This hate should be more on the FO than the player. They took a raw freak athlete that needed time to develop. He's had two years, one under the worst offense I can remember, one with a raw rookie QB.
A freak athlete who can't catch the football is just a freak. I don't hate him. I hope he finds his magic and has an amazing year with the Jets. I just don't think it's gonna happen. If it does, I'm cool being wrong.
I will be jab my eyeballs out with a turkey baster if we release him, the pats pick him up, and he turns his game around.
This is the same post that appears in any thread about a Jets player who they can't get to perform to their potential. I can count on zero fingers the players that people here said things like that about, and then those players went on to be successful with those assholes. Here's a player that absolutely nobody said that about: Danny Fucking Woodhead.
