Now im not saying that i predicted this, but i did make a thread before asking Will 10-6 get us in? I pose that same question, will Ne run the table making us have to beat everyone including the Dolfags on the last day of the season just to go to the PO??
I'm not sure 2-1 will cut it. 10-6 probably goes home in the AFC. I think all our wiggle room has wiggled away.
No, it won't. We need to win out. I think we'll probably go 2-1 the rest of the way and just miss the playoffs.
If the Patriots lose one of their final games, and the Jets beat Buffalo, then lose to Seattle, they could still win the division with a win Week 17, thus it is still possible to make it at 10-6. It would be sad though.
I think the Patriots will win out and get to 11-5. If the Jets beat Buffalo and Miami but lose to Seattle, that 10-6 might get them a wild card spot. If they get to 10-6 and do so by beating Seattle, that 10-6 will probably not result in a playoff berth. The Colts will likely be the 5 seed. They are 9-4 and have an easy road the rest of the month. They play the Lions and Jaguars and close up with a likely disinterested Titans team. In other words, it's going to be the division title, the 6th seed, or the golf course for the Jets.
I think we have a shot to make the playoffs at 10-6, but it certainly isn't a given. I'd actually rather be a 5 or 6 seed than a 3 or 4 seed. Please no games on the West Coast, though.
You are probably right because I don't think the Ravens will lose to Pittsburgh or Jacksonville. Conference record would be the first tiebreaker if a wild card spot comes down to either the Ravens or Jets. The Ravens are in better shape there.
if we win the division we get the seed over baltimore does not matter record, do you really not know that wow im amazed division is no worse then 4 seed
Well, by definition, if we win out to finish 11-5, we win the division (Better divisional record than NE and Miami will be 10-6 at best if they lose to us). In my opinion, if we don't accomplish this (and let's say go 2-1 in the last 3 to finish 10-6), we will miss the playoffs. I say this for two reasons: 1) I think NE is probably going to win out, and thus, if we don't win out, we will lose the division. 2) I think the Colts will be 11-5 and I think that the Ravens will probaby have a better conference record than we do. Those two teams will likely occupy the 2 wildcard spots. I'm not one who sees more than one AFC East team making it. (Remember that Baltimore has a head to head tie breaker over Miami and Indy has a head to head tie breaker over NE)
Jets are still in control of their own fate. They win three straight their in. Only one team will make it from the AFC East. Raven and Colt will be the wildcard teams.
NE still has to play Arizona, but the game is in NE. regardless,we need to win out. If we can't do that now vs beatable teams, then we can't do it in the playoffs vs good teams so there is no point being htere at all.
Miami is a must win game. If the Jets win out they get the 3rd seed only if Denver loses one of their last three games, otherwise they will get the 4th seed. Next weeks Buffalo game is not a must win, if the Pats loses one of their last 3 games and the Jets beat Seattle and Miami. They can still win the East. And in this case the Jets would get the 4th seed. Although the Ravens are looking good in this game, they have Pitt and @Dallas for their next two games. Meaning it is still possible two teams can still come out of the East. If the Jets only loses to Seattle, and Ravens loses those two games and the Pats wins out the Jets would get the 6th Seed.
the only way 2-1 gets them in if is the loss is to Seattle since they need the AFC East as a tiebreaker if new England goes 2-1 make it easy win 3 games against 3 teams we should beat...they better find that high scoring offense and shut down defense again real fast.
Looks like the Redskins are making a little comeback, that'd be huge for us if they beat Baltimore. The Ravens will probably lose to Pittsburgh and Dallas. If the 6th spot opens up, that'd be huge for us. Let's just hope we win out, or at least beat Miami in the final week.
