Why is the draft starting at 4 PM EST?

    Seems they are pushing back the start time later and later every year. The 1st round won't be over until midnight.

    This thing used to start at noon EST, 9 here on the West Coast, which was great: wake up, bowl of cereal and we're already rolling.

    To keep the majority of it in prime time, why else? There are only 2 rounds and they cut the time between picks. It will be over before 10 or 11 PM.

    They shortened the rounds, it won't be nearly as long as it was in the past

    Shortening the rounds is a good idea. I used to go nuts in between the Jets' picks waiting for all the other teams to screw around.

    The team's have 10 minutes to pick in the 1st round and 7 minutes to pick in the 2nd round. It should be over my midnight, maybe.

    As much as it sucks, I can see why the NFL would do this....... TV ratings.

    While there are many dorks like ourselves that will waste a saturday sitting in front of the TV waiting for the commisioner to walk to the podium every 15 minutes, the average "fan" may be less inclined to waste a nice spring saturday afternoon doing the same...... Odds are the average joe six pack will be more inclined to sit in front of the TV that evening after he spent the day with the family, or finishing his spring "honey-do" list :shit:
