Why is every mock draft saying we taking Sanchez?

He will be the biggest bust since Johnny Lam Jones! One mock draft says we have to take him but he can be a bust in the future. He goes on and says we can afford this if it happens. WHY! We need to pick an impact player especially we don't know what the Jets are going to get from Gouhlston. At 17 we could get Nicks,Moreno,Harvin,or Ayers from Tennesee so why do we have to settle with a bust. Pick up a QB in the middle rounds like Davis or Bolmar.

Internet is not quite where I'd look for a piece of wisdom. Chances are, you'd have to have an eye for a sensible writing or you'd find yourself drowning in the flood of morons.

NFL network said he is the least likely to be a bust out of the big 3.

first of all we have a draft section

second of all because we need a QB, that's usually why

now if its because of something else, I really do not know what that is

Probably because the only current ones on the roster are a) someone who has a career QB rating under 60 in 14 NFL games, b) an undrafted free agent who had one good preseason game against the Cleveland Brown's third stringers and c) a 5th round draft pick. That's why they have us taking a QB.

Brady was taken in the 6th. None of that matters. The fact is we really don't know who we have at QB. We could very well have our franchise QB on the roster right now. We won't know until we give the young guys time to prove themselves.

I would much rather go in a different direction in the first. And wouldn't be terribly upset if they don't take a QB all draft. Let's see what we really have.

Look what I am saying I don't think we need to waste this important on a player that most likely will not start and will be doing a Leinart for the Jets. Matt Leinart has more talent than Sanchez but has no work ethic. Look if Sanchez was so good why didn't he start over Booty who couldn't see the field in Minnesota. To put it midely his own coach said he wasn't ready for the N.F.L..

Rex & Schotty will decide if we need to get another QB. Rex watched a rookie QB lead a team within a few minutes of the SB. I don't think he'll be shy about drafting him if he's convinced our current guys don't have what it takes. And Sanchez would get a legit shot to start from day one.

Mock drafts are nothing but fun. If you treat them any other way then you need to step back from the computer once in awhile.

something tells me tanny, the GM, would have something to do with it as well, just a thought

there's a reason why a lot of coaches struggle with power, i don't know why everyone thinks rex is pulling the strings exclusively

I really think Sanchez is going to SF Niners.

I think we will draft either a WR or a RB.

I would think he had very little input relative to football ability. He has no background in evaluating talent. My guess is that most of the decisions will come from Ryan and his assistants, which is clearly what it looks like at this point.

the reason they have us taking sanchez at #17 is because if sanchez falls to 17.. hes going to be a Jet.. do i like this.. no not really.. would rather DHB or that DE tyson.. but you cannot pass on sanchez.. simply becuz he has that potential... he could be a bust.. or he could be a great NFL QB.. thats the risk with QBs who come out young..

but bottom line is if sanchez is there at 17.. get ready to hear his name as the Jets 1st round pick..

If Sanchez were thrown to the wolves in his first NFL year he would be out of the league when his rookie contract was up. He might not be ready in 3 years. He has one year starting as a college QB. He is ONLY in this draft because all of the good QBs decided to stay in school. He saw an opportunity to make big bucks and not fall to the 2nd or 3rd round and took it. Stafford is only slightly better.

If that Brady comparison held any water, no team would ever draft a QB in the first round. It's so rare to find a franchise QB in the later rounds or totally undrafted.

I think he's Brady Quinn with better accuracy.

Solid arm, but he'll use his athleticism has a main point of his game. He doesn't have the Stafford/Freeman arm, but he can make every throw.

The mocks have Sanchez going to the Jets as often as they do because the Jets have no established QB, because the value that many analysts put on Sanchez is that of a mid 1st round QB, and finally because there are so few teams above the Jets that have such an obvious need at QB.

I think Sanchez is more likely to go to SF at 10 at this point, however I don't see a lot of other teams queuing up to take a QB. Seattle might. St, Louis might. Hell, even Denver might take him given what's going on with Cutler. However there's nobody out there where if Sanchez slips to their pick he's a goner. Nobody but the Jets.

I see him slipping past the Jets and then he may be in free fall. How many times has that happened in recent years? That is his worst nightmare. If he does he will be forever a career backup.

He won't be in free fall past pick 40. I seriously doubt he'll get by Philadelphia's two picks in the round. That's the kind of surplus that a good team uses to grab the most valuable property on an NFL roster.
