From what I have seen thus far in his pre-season snaps, his accuracy is horrendous. I have to assume, HOPE, that the 2nd string O-line he's been working behind is not giving him enough time to properly throw the football, but sheesh, I don't think I've seen one quality throw thus far...
Def can help mark progress more than Kellen, hell Kellen cant even beat out a rookie, let alone play in any meaningful games
If he's better than Clemens I don't see it... I think they both suck equally for the most part, although Clements had the better outing in the first pre-season game.
Haha nice. I actually don't know how much better he is than Clemens. He could be a 3rd stringer like last year and be just as good a mentor.
Rex said in his press conference today he was lighting it up when there were just simple plays, and now he doesn't look as fluid because he is learning the whole playbook. He said he has full confidence Brunell will be ready by the season.
With a top flight defense and a great offense this team would not be done, but losing Sanchez would be a huge hit
not even close! clemens is way better. i guess they couldn'y get babe parilli to come out of retirement. good thing magini's daughter wasn't carrying a clipboard for the saints, or she might be our designated 7-yard passer.
Brunell is the better influence on Sanchez than Clemens is right now. Clemens is still trying to put together a resume for the next team while Brunell is only there to teach. Frankly, it doesn't really matter who our #2 is. Anyone not named Sanchez is only going to be asked to hand off to a sophomore battering ram or a future HOF for 90% of the offensive snaps.
but omgzorz das wut coaches r 4. seriously at this point if you aren't on board with the brunell signing, its time to get over it. clearly the FO has more knowledge than most here, and they pulled the gun. sounds good enough for me.
I would not go as far as to saw Clemens is way better. For a guy who has been in the league for what 5 years now he constantly makes rookie mistakes. Clemens just looks so lost when he is out there. While Brunell may be old he should be experienced enough to manage a game and if it got to the point that he was our starter you dont think we will be Ground and Pound to the Max Brunell will also be a great teacher for Sanchez. What experiences can Clemens convey to Sanchez except for the fact that he gets beat out for a starting position every year.
I haven't seen either preseason game but I saw a few clips from camp and every pass was a duck. People can go on and on about how he'll just be handing off the football; or if Sanchez gets hurt, the season is over anyway; or the coaching staff says this or that, but that's all rubbish. Unless he shows he can actually pass he shouldn't be #2. Hopefully the answer to your question is "it's still preseason" This thread has absolutely nothing to do with signing him.
