i'd have to say in the new stadium they should have a ring of honor. i'm sure they can do it like the rotating advertisements, where they rotate to JETS for jet games, and GIANTS, for giants games.
    my inductees are
    1-klecko
    2-walker
    3-chrebet
    4-martin
    5-leahy(maybe)
i would definatly say they should retire the #'s of 1-4

Don't retire #4 just yet. The Favre creamers will have a fit.

Klecko's number is retired. Martin's will be.

Other than that ... maybe Winston Hill's number and Kevin Mawae's number.

Namath, Maynard, Klecko, Martin. Those are the 4 great players in Jet's history. You can make an argument for Mawae, Hill, Toon, and maybe McNeil. Chrebet, Byrd, Walker, those are all players that we loved or respected as Jets but if you asked fans of other teams about them they'd say "who?"

As far as having a ring of honet ther are many worthy players but retired #s? Curtis is next and maybe mawae and that's about it. Maybe one of the older guys like a Winston Hill but no way on Chrebet, Walker or leahy. Leahy doesn't even deserve to be honored in the ring of honor if we have one. I liked Leahy as a kid but he was not a good K for most of his career.

The only one whos jersey should be retired that currently isn't is Curtis Martin. Maybe Maawe, but he is still a current player.

Chrebet, Toon, Walker, Leahy, McNeil are all great players, but not retired-jersey worthy.

Byrd is different. I'm not sure how to feel about that.

    I'm fine with 12, 13 and 73 being retired.
28 should be next due to both Martin's on-field achievements and the class he exhibited.
    That's it for now.
    No 68, no 90, no 80, no 88, no 75.

    12, 13, 73 and 28 is more than enough.

I like that group. After that, you start to open up a big group of very good, memorable players. You start retiring those, and you're going to run out of numbers real quick. There needs to be 80 numbers to go around during training camp and preseason games, it's not like this is a basketball or baseball roster.

  16. Martin, Klecko, Hill and Mawae are the bonafide greats who deserve to have their #"s retired. Chrebet, Toon, McNeil, and Byrd are good and loveable players...but unfortunately fall just short..w/ perhaps the exception of Toon.

90 is unofficially retired, no one has used it since Dennis got hurt.

In 5 years, after Curtis makes his acceptance speech in Canton the JETS should retire his # at the home opener (or at a MNF game if they have one)
