Who would you rather start? Kyle Orton or Michael Vick?

Okay. Your answer could be neither. I understand. This is hypothetical of course. I know some of you don't like to play hypothetical. But the Jets have one of these men on the roster right now. Kyle Orton doesn't blow the doors off defenses and Mike Vick is aging. But I thought I'd take the time to throw a different perspective out there in light of the E.J. Manuel benching and use it as a litmus test of sorts now that it is a reality. In consideration of your answer please do not look at the Buffalo Bills or the Jets as a whole. Think of Orton on the Jets bench. Or think of Vick on the Bills bench.

Orton has never taken his team to the playoffs. His NFL career reads more like 'The little train that couldn't than could'. Although he has a gifted mind he was never able to put a team on his back and push them into the playoffs. But the potential was there. Now he is starting in place of a 1st rounder that has only played give or take a year because the the "coach" said it is to help the team make a long decision moving forward. And here's a guy who was compared to Josh Freeman who has pretty much vanished off the planet since leaving Tampa. I think the Jets were looking at Freeman too. But the Bills feel that more evaluation is needed before committing to the pot. Even though E.J. is a first round pick. I find it interesting. Could the Jets do the same?

Vick is a different story altogether. Older yes. More experienced yes. Better than Mark Brunell? Mark Sanchez? Just kidding. 5 playoff appearances. 3 pro bowls. Became a starter off the bench and took his team to the playoffs. Had some off field issues. Came back after all that and again became relevant. I like his chances better.

This is a copy cat league. And I'm not saying the Bills are crazy for doing it. Or genius. But when do you say I've seen enough? Let's do this. If the Jets wee to start Vick next week would it really be so crazy it couldn't work? Could we not keep looking for a bonafied starter? I guess that's my point. Why is benching Geno such a horrible thing to some Jets fans?

I'd take Geno over EJ any day just like I'd take Vick over Orton any day.

Let's talk about the draft because I don't pay attention to games.
