I know that both KC, and Ainge are unproven in the NFL. KC because you can't judge by last season due to an inefective line, and Ainge because he's never played in the NFL. Then there is always the question about CP, wether or not he's still got enough in him to put on a good show against these young kids. On the positive end for these 3 QB's, we know that KC has a tremendous arm, and we know what CP can do if given the right weapons, and Ainge has had a pretty good 4 years in college. Me personally I'd like to see what KC, and EA are made of. Who would you like to see take the starting spot?

CP is our BEST and most VIABLE option to becoming a winning team again. He's smart, when NOT forced into FORCING his throws, he can pick a defense apart and he plays smart, but injuries and the LACK of a GOOD O-LINE over the past 4 seasons has reduced CP to a mere SHELL of the QB he could have become.

KC still needs time and Ainge isn't even in the picture, he's a clipboard holder for now.

    BTW,

Right on with the Teams you support, Yankees, Knicks, Jets and 'Canes!!!!

Anyone think Cincy would trade Chad and Coles for Palmer and Cinco?

Thanks Dude, same to you too. After so many years in Miami, the Canes are the only South Florida team that I truly support. I don't care to much for the rest. Although every now and then I'll catch a Marlins game. I figure I can get away with that since they and the Yanks are in completely different leagues.

Maybe if we throw in a few handguns and some assorted bags of coke and weed. A few hookers who don't know when to keep their damn mouths shut to sweeten the deal.

no chance clemens wins the camp, trust mangini will give chad the go ahead but just like last season, kellen probably will finish out the season kinda like a real qb controversy.

I will be pretty upset if we go with Chad...He is too predictable and will NEVER win us games.

At least with Clemens we have a kid who can make big plays. Chad simply doesn't create anything.

You're kidding. With your screen name, I never could have guessed you felt that way.

Here comes the exponential growth of these sorts of threads until September.

A CP vs KC poll was pretty close like last week on here.

Im going with Kellen. Chad is done as a starter in the NFL, imo.

I say Kellen Clemens. Give him a full year to see how he can do. I think he could be good. By the way, I call starting the next QB Poll thread. I am scheduling its release for May 26th.

If I had to choose - clemens, only because I know what the jets have in chad and that just isn't good enough

I changed my screen name the day KC was named the starter...my feelings since then could have changed.

I said Clemens because if he wins the starting position during training camp, that means that the team is moving forward. If Chad wins it, it means that we need to find a new QB for next season. Though Clemens didn't impress me last season, I am praying that he works out because if he doesn't, we will be average at best until such time as when we find another starting QB.

Right now I have no faith in the our veteran QBs and hope that Erik Ainge turns out to be a draft steal. He can't be any worse than the others.

I continue to read about his old QB coach Cutliffe defending him about his arm strength and mental ability to lead a team. Ainge has a great track record and numbers in college, and is actually ecstatic to play for the Jets because he is friends with both Chad and Kellen (grew up in Oregon, fan of where Kellen played and is from, played for Tennessee- Chad's home state)

Ainge, from what is being reported from trustworthy sources, could be ready in 2 years due to his film geekness and his ability to make the reads on the field. He may have been taken in the 5th, but was given a 3rd round grade- just like Tom Brady, and he fell to the 199th pick.
