Will Tannenbaum stay steadfast and demand Schaub or this year's 1st rounder, eventually getting it, or will he give in to the Falcons and let Abe go for some other deal that does not include Schaub or a 1st rounder? Something makes me think that other teams are trying to take advantage of Mike's greenness at GM and expect him to give in if they play hardball. After this deal goes down (or doesn't go down) we'll know what he's made of.
Sad to say, but the Jets will probably cave first. No one else has the money Abraham is demanding, except Atlanta. I say a second and third rounder in this year's draft can be parlayed into another first rounder via another team. We could then package our second rounder with Atlanta's for a late first rounder.
After this deal goes down (or doesn't go down) we'll know what he's made of.[/QUOTE] true. the abe situation and the use of the #4 pick will put the stamp on the identity of the front office.
The way you phrased it, I'd say McKay caves first. I really believe it'll be a compromise, where we get their first, but also give up a later pick (potentially 3rd or 4th round).
First rounder all the way. hold out until we get one. Its still a month or so to the draft. Hold Strong!
A mix of a first and second round pick, whether either is this year or next year is necessary. Either that, or Schaub and at least their 3rd, or second next year. Less is robbery, and since we don't have to get rid of Abe yet, the advantage is ours.
