Favre/Rhodes/Chatham? That would be my guess. Don't think they've announced it yet though.

It's usually two offensive, two defensive and two special teams. I'm guessing Coles/Faneca, Ellis/Rhodes, and Graham/Nugent, or something to the effect.

I thought we got rid of Chatham!?!

And i think the Jets usually name 6 Captains? My guess would be Favre, Faneca, Coles, Rhodes, Harris and Nugent

We did, huh? I missed a lot of the cuts this weekend, but I'm surprised, he was one of Westhoff's favorite STs guys.

I hate those stupid "C" patches, it's so silly.

Come on, man, shaking hands in the center of the field is a huge responsibility. I don't like the patches either, honestly.

Farve and Coles on offensive. No way Coles does not get the C, He's been here since Mangini's day 1.

I think its stupid to have 6 Captains. It kind of takes away from the title when you have that many. Teams should have 3 at the most.

Coles definitely. The team named him Captain last year. Brett has to because of seniority and the fact that he is a natural born leader, Rhodes - its his defense... maybe Harris? Or James Dearth!!

I'm pretty sure it's two offensive captains, two defensive captains and a special teamer.

Last year it was Coles, Penny, Ellis, Vilma and Nugent.

I have a hard team seeing why Favre or Faneca would be a captain. The issue isn't seniority; the issue is Jets seniority. You can't really name a "rookie" your captain. Notice how Penny, Ellis, Vilma, Coles and Nooge were all veteran, drafted Jets?

Mangold is definitely a captain. I don't see how he couldn't be.

Second offensive captain is a tough call. Coles likely wins; remember, it's the players who choose their captain. I'd rather see Cotchery get it and I think he has the second best chance. I'd really like to see Leon Washington get it though. He was the team MVP last year; he was the off-season MVP, or something to that effect; he's a blue collar guy and I'm guessing he has long since earned the respect of his teammates.

Defensive captains are pretty easy. Harris and Rhodes.

Special teams... wait I just had a thought... Leon should get it for special teams! That solves that!

Cotch, Mangold, Rhodes, Harris and Washington. All draftees, all ballers, high character leaders.

    My top 3 would be...

    Offense-Coles
    Defense-Rhodes
    ST-Nugent

    Top 6 would be...

    Offense-Coles and Mangold
    Defense-Rhodes and Ellis
    ST-Nugent and Leon Washington

Just saw this on Bolands Blog.

    * Eric Mangini revealed how the team vote went down for the 2008 captains. No surprises until you get to the offensive captains. The defenses captains were Shaun Ellis and Kerry Rhodes; special teams were David Bowens and Leon Washington.

    And on offense...

Two newbies: Alan Faneca and Brett Favre.

Kind of surprised that LC wasn't chosen, hope it doesn't get his panties in a bunch...

Great list for the Captains. Not suprised at all that Favre and Faneca where chosen. To vets who have won superbowls and are going to be the teams leaders all year. I'd venture a guess that Coles most likely lost his spot as a captain when he acted up over the Chad trade.

well favre has clearly allready been adopte by the team, and they like him as much as we do... Faneca is the one im surprised about, i figured that one would go to either Coles or Mangold. But clearly this means he is allready a leader on the line...

awesome... Coles will still be a leader even without the patch.

L Wash is going to be something special on this team for a long time.

David Bowens should be given the award for being so damn cool.
