Now that the 2010-11 season is officially over, who do you think reaches/returns to the postseason next year?
I'm ready for the dozens of pundits that will write columns like these and skip the Jets for some lame reason like "we can't sign all of our free agents".
eastatriots south:jags north:steelers west:chargers wc:jets wc:ravens pats edge us by one game jags win by default after peyton goes down for a few games not wishing this just playing the odds
Betting peyton goes down is the opposite of playing the odds. Jets, chiefs, steelers, colts Ravens, pats tappin.. talkin..
East: New England (Belichick, Brady, and a million draft picks) North: Steelers (win Super Bowl in '05 = miss playoffs in '06; win Super Bowl in '08 = miss playoffs in '09; lose Super Bowl in '10 = ??? in '11) South: Indianapolis (won less than 12 games for first time in forever and almost always win division) West: San Diego (won't start their season in October after missing playoffs) WC: Houston (Falcons were my sleeper team last year and the Texans are my sleeper team this year) WC: Ravens/Jets (fighting for the 6-seed, yet again) I'm hoping some of the perennial division champs get overtaken this year but I'll leave it this way, for now.
AFC East: New York Jets AFC South: Indianapolis Colts AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers AFC West: Oakland Raiders Wildcard: Baltimore Ravens Wildcard: New England Patriots The KC Chiefs aren't a good football team. They will take a step back in 2011. I think the AFC West will be a very close race between the Chargers and the Raiders. The AFC East should be similar - it will probably go down to the wire between NE and NY. I don't believe Joe Flacco is a top level QB. I think the Ravens will win enough games to get to the playoffs, but I don't think they'll win their division. I'll never pick against Peyton Manning in that mediocre division. Injuries destroyed that team in 2010. They'll be scary in 2011.
I think they'll re-seed based on record 1. AFC South: Indy Colts 2. AFC East: New England Patriots 3. WC: New York Jets 4. AFC North:Baltimore Ravens 5. WC: Pittsburgh Steelers 6. AFC West: San Diego Chargers
1. Colts (South winner - easy division) 2. Jets (East winner) 3. Ravens (North winner - Flacco choked in that div. playoff game but he's improving. Had a 94 passer rating last year) 4. Chargers (West winner - Chiefs were a one-hit-wonder and Raiders were on the verge but now have a new coach). 5. Patriots 6. Jags (MJD injury killed their season. They can get a WC) WC Playoffs: Ravens beat Jags Chargers beat Patriots Divisional Playoffs: Chargers beat Colts (again) Jets beat Ravens AFC Championship: Jets beat Chargers In the NFC, I think the Pack win their division but won't repeat as NFC Champions. The last 4 Superbowl champions failed to win a playoff game the following year. Eagles, Cowboys, and Saints should be the favorites in that conference. Cowboys have the most talent but will likely choke again. While certainly not a gimme game, I think the Jets can beat any of those teams.
AFC East: Jets AFC South: Colts AFC West: Chargers AFC North: Steelers WC1: Patriots WC2: Browns 1: Chargers 2: Jets 3: Colts 4: Steelers 5: Patriots 6: Browns NFC East: Eagles NFC South: Falcons NFC West: 49ers NFC North: Packers WC1: Lions WC2: Saints 1: Eagles 2: Packers 3: Falcons 4: 49ers 5: Lions 6: Saints
My NFC: 1) Eagles 2) Saints 3) Packers 4) 49ers 5) Cowboys 6) Falcons WC Playoffs: Packers beat Falcons 49ers beat Chokeboys Div. Playoffs: Eagles beat 49ers Saints beat Packers (56-52 game or something crazy like that) NFC Championship: Eagles beat Saints (NO can't win on the road in the playoffs) Superbowl (Mexico Bowl): Jets beat Eagles
AFC: 1) Indianapolis 2) New England 3) Baltimore 4) Denver(Would have said OAK but they fired Cable.....Denver is another bottom dwellar who will benefit off of an easy schedule. Tebow/Fox connection should do well, no McDaniels=more wins, defense should get back to shape with a healthy Dumerveil returning. Fox will turn the D around) 5) New York 6) San Diego No Pittsburgh, usually one of the Super Bowl teams(Minus this year and another time) doesn't reach the playoffs the following year. I am also concerned about the Jets not going back into the playoffs but I am an optimist and will think they can just latch onto a spot. Usually there's alot of parity in the NFL and where about 5 or 6 of the 12 playoff teams are new. NFC: 1) Green Bay 2) Philadelphia 3) New Orleans 4) San Francisco 5) Minnesota 6) New York(Could be Dallas too but I can't see the Giants having so many turnovers like this.........also not a huge believer on Garrett as coach. Think it was just a mirage and illusion and I think the Giant players will play for Coughlin this year.) I think 10-6 gets you a playoff spot in NFC....except 9-7 which I see SF going. DET will go 9-7 this year but it just won't be enough IMO.
Things could drastically change after FA and the draft, but as of now: AFC Baltimore Indianapolis New York San Diego New England Pittsburgh NFC New Orleans New York Green Bay St. Louis Philadelphia Dallas
