I know that he had a taunting foul that cost the Jets a touchdown, but I did notice that he was step for step with every single reciever he was covering most of the time. He completely shut down Burress. He made the spectacular play on Toomer before the taunting. I think he should be the Jets starting cornerback. Does anyone agree with me?

I think that in order to play defense in the NFL...you have to be a dickhead sometimes. It helps you earn respect on the field.

I love Miller b/c he has the swagger and attitude that can get under WR skin causing them to make bonehead plays penalties etc. Deangelo Hall is the same way

Miller had youth, speed, and talent. He is an easy player to like.

I am hopeful that he will settle down and the mistakes will be reduced.

Clearly, he will not last long if he doesn't learn from his many errors.

He is one of my favorite players on the team right now. I think he has played well this preseason despite what some people are saying. I think he will turn out to be a solid CB.

I love the kid, without question. After the media ripped him up for the washington game he comes out and goes blow for blow with toomer and burress. That taunting penalty was bullshit, if you have ever played football at any level, much less the nfl . If you can cause a reciever to drop a pass, you would be amped also. I hate refs

Miller himself said he needs to learn how to control his emotions, because he obviously knows he'll find a quick spot on the bench if he keeps that up...

He rebounded greatly from last week and that was one of the very few positives from Saturday nights horrible showing.

I like him okay. He is someone whose play I will watch closely this year. Last year I felt he made the same mistakes over and over again, i.e.: not protecting the ball on returns, so I was a bit skeptical, but maybe that was Herm's fault, not his. We'll see.

While I was at work, I looked at that play several times. Toomer dropped the ball before Miller got to him. Maybe he heard foot steps, but it wasn't anything that great.

Miller is a guy with all the tools you need to be a good corner. He's got the speed, he's got the athletecism, and he has the motor. He just needs to play smart. I think the current coaching staff will get him to play smart... some guys just are born with that instinct and some aren't.... and that is why the CS is bringing in a lot of players who have that. Surround the great physical players with ones who are smart and can lead them.

I like him. He looks much better this year without the influence of Ty "Ty Law sleeps late on Mondays" Law. A lot of his early issues were concentration related. The fumbles being the biggest example.

His concentration is there now. He will be just fine. Dyson and Miller should be the starting corners.

to be an NFL cornerback, you HAVE to be cocky. it's really the only position on the defensive side of the field which has a close to 100% accoutability factor (i.e. if you got beat, you got beat). thats good for him, and anyone who wants to be a good nfl cb.

HOWEVER, i dont think hes been refined enough to be a starter yet. he seems to get lost in coverage and picked on quite a bit. the talent is there, but he isn't yet. i like him more right now as a kick returner and in dime and nickel packages, and hopefully eventaully he can make that leap to starter. just not yet...

by a show of hands... who likes justin miller.. :raises hand(reluctantly):

  17. I'm Just WAITING for Rajensen's post about how Miller was rated asthe worst defensive playmakerin the NFL by some bogus web site.

Miller has all the talent in the world to hang w/ any wide reciever in terms of speed, agility and jumping. Once he learns ball/pattern recognition he's gonna be a top 10 CB in this league.

I will be the first to admit I thought this guy should have been a second day pick last year. He was very imature and a head case coming out with very little fundementals required to play at a high level in the NFL. I think Mangini is the best thing that could have happened to this kid. He is going to get plenty of instruction and the team is going to demand that he carries himself like a pro or he will be gone. I love the fact he got the taunting penalty in a pre-season game. The lesson if learned is only going to help him. He looks like a different player this year hopefully he continues to improve and he reaches his potential which looks very high based on physical talent.

...this logic would make Jason Taylor the most respected player in the league!

Since he went to my favorite college football team (Clemson), I gotta defend the man and say he will turn out to be a definite steal...Although he has to calm down but trash talk is what makes football you have to talk that good stuff...i mean it is the No Fun League anyway all he did was make a good hit and got up looking at him I mean if you look at someone the wrong way it results in a taunting penalty its ridiculous..
