I dont post here very much, Actually I cant remember the last post I started, BUT this was a great win for the circus in town. Why is it none of the stations gave us some good coverage. I put on all the stations waiting for some Jet reviews and there was nothing on at all. Just a view clips here and there. Where is our love. Go Jets.
It was the most annoying offseason I can ever remember, not because of player and roster moves, but because of the extra-shitty vibe we get now from just about EVERYONE. Most of the talk was always some BS to pick on us, whether it be Tebow related, or the crap we heard about fights in practice etc. This first game W coupled with the Giants loss to the Cowboys (yes, it matters, at least in week one) was just what we needed. A bad loss this Sunday would have made for a horrendous week for all of us. We should all celebrate and feel some relief over it even though it really is just one game.
This game was more of a wake-up call to the national media that they should stop blowing smoke up Buffalo's ass than anything else. This should be no surprise to anyone except the "experts" who picked them to make the playoffs.
I for sure felt great after the win and yesterday was obviously nice coming to work and not having to hear the Giant fans chirp and all but we gotta relax with "why can't we get respect" talk. A win in week one is not vindication for all the predictions. There's a long way to go. And here's a what-if scenario for you: The Jets go to Pittsburgh and get blown out (Not what I think will happen). This place along with all the media outlets will be right back to doom and gloom. Enjoy the win, but come on guys, it's not like it was a playoff game where we can really rub it in everyone's face after not being given a chance. LONG season where a lot can happen. Let's leave the crow feast for the end of the year when the Jets are going to the playoffs or even further.
I gotta say man, I have been a Sanchez basher for a very long time. If this is a sign of things to come.....AWESOME. I really hope this was the start of something new for this Jets offense and not some random anomaly. This makes me want to see the Pats Vs. Jets game SOOOOOOO bad.
The JETS get plenty of coverage, to bad it is mostly BAD . . . . they can't force there headlines with ALL the B.S. that comes around. When they win you expect them media to respect them. It DOES NOT work that way. Many see that win vs the bills as a fluke win and want to see more before they buy in. You know how bad they pushed against all the hype in the pre-season then we go 0-4 (Iknow the pre-season means nothing) I agree with the it is a NEW season come game one of the regular season. Lets see when or if they buy in at all this season.
Almost exactly my thoughts. For me it was the longest, worst off season I can remember, began with the Christmas Eve Giants game, another Giants-Patriots Super Bowl and there was no relief from it until this week. It was only Week 1 but all of that shit is officially in the past now, they can stop taking their bows and the Jets have the chance to answer for themselves on the field every week. Seems to me the team felt the same way for the past 8-1/2 months and played with quite a chip on their shoulders. I'm hoping that continues throughout the season. With Rex in charge I think they will, we'll see.
Gotta get past the Steelers, 49ers, and Texans first. No need to put the cart in front of the horse. You'll have a much better idea of the team by the time you play the Pats.
Just win games. Let the media sort itself out. This will take awhile, BTW, I don't think Don Banks is over calling the Jets to the Super Bowl in 2004 or 2010 after fast starts yet. 2012 they're not going to be able to get out 4-1 and get a shout out from him. This is from the "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice..." school of thought.
Some around here are acting like we won the Super Bowl or a playoff game! It's way too early to rub anyone's nose in it and frankly, I don't want the attention. It was a nice win and it demonstrates that we are not as bad as many thought, but this team will be judged by what it does over the course of the season - not one home game against the Bills. I loved what Rex and Sanchez had to say after the game. It's a great start, we're a good team, and we need to get ready for our new opponent. That's it. Keeping it simple and letting our play do the talking. Bring on Pittsburgh.
This was a good win, keep in mind that the Bills "were much improved" so we beat a "good team". Now we as fans deserve to throw it back in their faces but at the same time need to realize that this is still only one game.
I think most everyone realizes it's one game. But when you look at what we went through as fans from Christmas Eve right on through the pre-season with the constant bashing, you can't expect us not to feel some joy and relief at how the season got started. Sometimes you have to live in the moment, we all know we want to beat the Pats and win a Super Bowl but you can only play the games as they come along. It's a division win, we'll take it. Right off the top of my head I can think of 2001 when losing at home to a bad Buffalo team cost us the division and a bye, probably happened in other years too, so let's enjoy it and see what Pittsburgh has for us.
Actually the Bills are getting more hate today than the Jets are getting love. Cowturd tore them a new one after predicting them to be a contender this year.
That's why I don't even listen to any of these guys anymore. They get their own feelings hurt because their predictions are proven wrong and they lash out, none of it with any accuracy or credibility. Francesa, Kay, any of them, I don't even listen to them anymore.
Because all the analysts and experts had the Bills making the playoffs and maybe challenge New England...the Jets were supposed to be 6-10 and a joke. Well the Jets beat the crap out of Buffalo and Sanchez played lights out...only answer Buffalo is not a good team so it doesn't count. Hell Flacco played well last night against the Bengals - a team didn't beat a team with a winning record last year and can't compete with the big boys yet. Yet Flacco is being looked at like the second coming today. Giants are 10-10 in their last 20 regular season games, but that is forgotten when you get hot in the playoffs in win. Read one article today saying how Sanchez will never be a Manning completing under 60% of his passes, of course the first time he did complete over 60% was 2008 - the year after they won the Super Bowl. So analysts will write and say what they have to to try and keep their belief in check. It's a long season, but the Jets looked a lot better than a 5 win team on Sunday.
