The Aussies on the board seemed to think it was more of a rumor than anything because this guy is an ego and not the type to throw caution and security to the wind for a chance to play a sport he has never played before.
There was no chance of it hapening im my opinion. Akermanis loves the media attention that he seems to soak up every year. If it did then it would be in a years time.
When I was in Australia in May he said in an interiew that he dpes plan to try NFL football but he didn't say when. I wouldn't doubt he will give it a shot, but when and with which team, who knows...
Forget him. As Byz said it is all hot air from an annoying little man with a big ego and bad facial hair. The only reason I would like to see him play NFL is to see him broken in two, trying to crawl off the field with his entrails dragging behind him. Since Ben Graham successfully made the switch there have been media generated stories of various AFL and rugby types from Australia making a go of it in the NFL. It's a bit of fun but it's just to fill a page in a newspaper. IMO the only chance would be another punter with a big leg like Graham. A guy called Rocca could do it. Same leg as Graham.
I don't care what you say anymore in your posts Frank. I just love looking at your Av. Thanks for carrying on my old favorite too.
I have heard alot about Rocca and i think he will go to the NFL. Hes becoming a little slow and/or unfit and by the end of next season he would not have been an impact forward. And i think that he would have a good career punting aswell as he has kicked goals over 70m
Here's his website http://www.jasonakermanis.com.au/ He seems a little full of himself. Im guessing he would try out for punter but I doubt many teams would want their punter to be a cocky player.
No i believe it was Wide Reciever and he was compared to steve smith. Hes bloody fast bust doesnt have a 40 time obviously, and he was the same height and 2 kgs heavier than Steve Smith
