I thought this thread would be a nice little change of pace. Pretty self-explanatory. I truly believe we'd still be 3-0 with Clemens. Sanchez has been far above what we expected before preseason, no doubt. BUT its not like he's out there winning games for us. In week 1, the only points the Texans scored were off a Sanchez mistake. Against the Pats, Sanchez was definitely good, and in My opinion, this is the only game in question, but the defense won the game for us. Sanchez was non existent in the first half, and in the second half he was solid but a lot came from the receivers making plays. Finally, this Titans game I think Sanchez was mediocre at best. Really didn't make any plays outside of the opening drives, and the only other 2 scores we had were on very short field. What do you guys think?
I voted 1-2 but now that I think about it, I would say 2 - 1. I don't think Clemens is all that terrible but I do think he is much more INT prone and that woulda at least cost us the Titans game... Our D woulda carried us the other two game..
I haven't seen anything from Clemens to indicate he has the pocket presence, poise, instincts or mental makeup to have clutched it up the way Sanchez did in the first 3 games. No way in hell are we 3-0 with Clemens.
Sanchez hasn't been special, only special compared to other rookies. He's managed the games and made several great passes, but I don't see why Clemens couldn't do the same. However, I do agree that Clemens would likely have thrown more interceptions. I say 2-1, because clemens wouldn't have been able to score that rushing td that Sanchez had, and would probably have thrown more interceptions.
0-3. Whenever the Jets are within 25 yards of the EZ you just get this overwhelming feeling that a TD is coming. Whenever Clemens brought the O within 25 yards of the EZ you were amazed they got there, and then it fizzles to a FGA. Night and day.
There's no way we would have lost to Houston with our defense being as dominant as it was but we definately not have won yesterday. (I personally doubt we would have beaten NE either)
I think it would probably still be 3-0 and I am no Clemens lover. These wins haven't come because of Sanchez's play but because of the play in all three phases of the game. Sanchez hasn't hurt us but he also hasn't thrown for 300 yards and 3 TDs every week either.
he would have been sacked by Marrio Williams 3 times, fumbled twice. 0-3. Clemens can't feel the rush for shit.
I have to say Houstons stands out as one of those games we defiently would have lost without Sanchez. All of those third down completions. We were getting zero yards running the ball most of the game and Clemens I do not believe would have made stuff happen life Sanchez has.
What would our record be with Joe Namath as our starter? Yeah this thread is pretty pointless, although I don't think we would have won the past 2 weeks.
