What inspirational movie or guest speaker is Mangini going to show his team on Saturday night? In Aussie Rules football one now famous case was when the coach of a unfavoured team (Brisbane Lions) were about to play the dominant force (Essendon Bombers, my team) in an important play-off game, he showed them the movie Predator. The key message he drummed into the players was "If it bleeds we can kill it" The Brisbane Lions won that game
I was just about to post a thread on this topic actually, asking if Mangini still showed tapes to the team before the upcoming game. Did he run out of boxing classics this season or something? I mean, it worked so well last season, why not this season?
At this stage probably the Little Giants. Good chance at Brokeback Mountain as he can say, "Do you really want that guy to throw for touchdowns against you?"
The Al Pacino "Peace By Inches" speech from Any Given Sunday is great. I listened to it before football games in high school, and even though it's fictional, it still gets me pumped.
Cool Runnings Hey if those guys could learn to bobsled on grass then the Jets can beat the Pats in Foxboro. "Jamaica we got a bobsled team"
Pulp Fiction.... Ezekiel 25:17... The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Mangini---After sacking Brady and stepping on his chest with one foot you should say the above...
The Jets should be motivated by the utter lack of respect that they're getting from the national media. Not only are they getting no shot to actually win the game but the discussion is around how badly they'll get destroyed. Why is it that all you hear about is how fired up the Pats are going to be. The Jets, not the Pats are the team that got beat by 24 points in the first game. Shouldn't they be the ones seeking payback?
