What if this season chad comes out of the gates fireing like old....playing great and doing alot.....the new line does good...martin runs for a 1,000....and the defnese does as good as they can do.....mayeb the jets could make the playoffs. i mean all that really has to happen is the line has to hold up and chad or ramesy or clemens has to play good...
Of course it COULD happen.....but think about what the odds of all that are. Not only would our entire team have to perform at the absolute top of their games every week, but every play call on Offense and Defense would basically have to be the perfect call for the situation every time, and our opponents would have to play poorly. Sure, it could happen, but in reality we have to assume that it won't, or at least not go into the season with great expectations. So to answer the question...what if it did happen? Well, I assume we'd all be pretty damn excited.
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=130349&postcount=1 So after our kick ass draft you think we'll do worse now?
and after camp he'll have us at 13-3. I still think there's a chance for 9-10 wins, if everything comes together. Just remember on any given sunday anybody can win....even the Jets!
if Chad played like '02 or '04 pre-injury, Curtis was his usual and the OL was playing well we'd definitely be a playoff contender and more but that's alot to ask.
With every break in the book the Jets might manage to go 9-7. With fantabulous miracles, like Martin running for 1,400 yards and Chad playing 16 games the Jets would likely go 10-6 and get bumped in the second round of the playoffs as they did a couple of years ago. There was never enough talent on the Jets to win even 11 games from 2001 to 2005. What would make anybody think that they were capable of that kind of performance coming off of the brutal season they had last year? They need to r-e-b-u-i-l-d so they can be better than they were the last 5 years because the last 5 years was not good enough.
I agree about any given Sunday. We'll win a few games that we're not supposed to and then we'll lose games that we're not supposed to . Typical NFL Football!
i mean i get what the kids sayin the team really isnt that bad we just have to worry about the health of our qb and gelling. like if we had the number one draft pick next year there isnt really an exact position you would go to maybe dl possibly cb but our situation is pretty good right now in the next couple of years i really think our team is going to take off
i doubt chad could get back to his old slef after 2 major shoulder surgeries, its a long shot, a really long shot, but if i could do this maybe it could happen :breakdance:
Besides the Oline we really do have a very similar team to the '04 team. But Penny has gone under the knife twice, Martin once, and it is a brand new system on defense. But yea, if everything falls into place-we have that potential but you could say that for every team besides the 9ers
The NFL is very unpredictable. Anything can happen, but MANY things would have to go our way in order for the Jets to be successful this season. What if Brady goes down in Week 2 for the season and Culpepper's knee gives out in preseason? Suddenly, Chad is the best QB in the AFC East.
Oh wow...that's ALL that has to happen? Be serious for a minute, Our team has nothing at this point to hang our hat on. The closest thing would be our LB core, and event that may have a "?" or two.
