Now I am no football expert (im working on it) and the new york football jets are quite the baffling team to watch and not the easiest team to dissect. But maybe I can get some help here, what is it going to take to shut down the dolphins tomorrow?
Initially I just want to say, send the blitz, for christ sake send somebody. We are putting way too much pressure on our front 3. If im not mistaken Jenkins is being double teamed. Really isn't this kind of a blessing in disguise? Now we can get creative with our blitzes considering they are commiting to jenkins so heavily.
My second concern is that pennington is going to be playing the short game (no shit). Are blitzes going to be as effective when we have no time to pressure the quaterback because hes just dumping it off. If you recall the denver game the short passing game killed us. Also, our assignments as far as lb's covering tight ends and receivers just seem simply, fucked up to be frank. (think back to calvin pace covering wes welker) How do we stop the short passing game? (can we bring rhodes in from center field and have our backs press? Revis seems to be the only back not 10 yards of their guy.) Any thoughts maybe from a more intelligent or learned mind of the game of football?

We play to win.........and hope that our Defense returns to the form that they showed mid season. All we can do is win this one and root for Buffalo and Jacksonville. We pissed away our chances on the west coast trips, so now , it's out of our hands - even if we beat the Dolphins - GO JETS!!!!

A key tactic would be is to remove the out-of-town score board...that would help.

Coaching staff, Play calling. Basic fundamentals.. It can be embarrassing to watch the jets at times

I'm gonna go ahead and go one step further. We need a win and NE, Bal loss.

    here's how we beat miami.

but first, realize our run-d has suffered due to a 'rob peter to pay paul' mentality trying to help out our pass-d (which hasn't helped). we rush 2 or 3 and drop 8 or 9 into coverage all the time. rhodes play 25 yards deep. lb's on slot receivers, etc. this is why jenkins is run down. stopping the run has been left up to him the the last 7 games. and now we can't stop the run OR the pass.

    so....

we beat miami by going back to stopping the run. load up the box. rush 4-5-6 every play. run blitz. we cover the te and rb by forcing them to stay home and block.

play our entire defense like we are backed up against the goal line.

shut down everthing near the LOS and put the game on chad's surgically repaired angel hair pasta arm. we all know how that works out.

on offense, just pound martin up the middle, send keyshawn deep, run chrebet over the middle, and NEVER throw to brady. that should do it!
