1. Continued improvement by Sanchez. 2. My man Gholston to get a desperately needed sack. 3. The OL to continue to get better and give much needed protection. They see this kind of defense every day in practice now it's time to see how they react in game like situations.
The OL won't get better tonight, not with guys out and against the Ravens defense. I'll be happy if everybody just stays healthy. If they are still out. I thought I saw last week that Woody and Faneca wouldn't play but now I can't find anything on it.
Pretty much the same thing as last week. #1 NO INJURIES #2 Sanchez to look like an NFL QB. he doesn't have to be great but be in command, protect the football and don't turn it over. #3 I want to see Gholston w/o having to look for him.
Cohesiveness in the D. Sanchez improving and learning (would like to see some pressure to see how he reacts, part of the oline is hurt so this is probably coming) Will someone emerge as the number two WR? Missed last weeks game as I was out of town, so I want to see what the fuss is about Westerman and Renkhart.
For Sanchez to look good against a good first team D. Last week he looked good but lets be honest...it was the Rams. Also more progession from the Ghost. The fact that this fucker is starting the first four games in place of Pace, who was a beast last week is making me nervous. Does the Ghost have to start the first four games?? Isnt there anyone else!!?? I guess this is Ryans way of telling him to sink or swim.
Gholston. I'd also really like to see some more of Slauson. I was very impressed with the o-line during Sanchez's drive last week. There were two plays at the goal line where our boys just knocked the d-line straight backwards. That was refreshing, especially since (I think) their starters were in and we were throwing a back-up o-line at em, minus our best run blocker. I need to see Slauson develop. I need to see that o-line depth.
He's not guaranteed to start, if he doesn't show much he won't play. he needs to progress. He was next ont he deopth chart so rex said he's satrting and I think part of that was to help Gholston's confidence but in no way is it set in stone he's starting in place of Pace.
1. I'd like to see Sanchez play well. Perhaps not huge numbers, but play well under the pressure. 2. I'd like to see Buster show up. Like Junc said, I don't want to have to up the resolution on my TV to find him hiding under a blade of turf. If Vern is a no show tonight, then he might as well get accustumed to his label. 3. I'd also want to see the Jets OLine step up and keep the kid in one piece as long as Sanchez is on the field. They're gonna have to keep Dirty on his feet and the kid is going to have to show alot of field savvy to come out of this with the starting job.
The main things I'm looking for are: 1) Sanchez to get hit in the mouth and then bounce back like nothing happened. 2) Gholston to play like someone didn't shoot him up with thorazine while he was walking through the tunnel. 3) Clowney to continue to improve and get this 'fluke' label out of my head. 4) The depth O-line look like something other than the turnstiles they performed as against the Rams. (yeah, I know, pipedream against the Ravens, but you never know)
-first off most importantly, NO INJURIES IS WHAT IM LOOKING FOR. -id like to see our OL look at least servicable against the ravens even though Faneca and Woody will be out. although i think its alot to ask with our complete lack of depth heading into BAL -1st team WR's making grabs for 1st downs -gholston (need i say more) -i want to see the ravens QBs look like shit. with flacco being avg to slightly above average and there best reciever being a 35 yr old derrick mason (not sure exact age but hes up there) we better not let them throw it all around -the ravens running game is a given, i expect them to see some success. id like for us to just not get marched on at will. -leon taking a kick back would be nice. hes so good at i almost feel entitled to them sometimes lol.
To see how Sanchez plays against one of the better D's in the league. As someone mentioned, let's see how he responds after getting busted in the mouth. Ravens should be a great test for him!
This is gonna be an interesting matchup to say the least. Both offenses should know what to expect somewhat from the D. So, I'm gonna compare our defense and offense on their first offensive and defensive drives. I'm still looking for a TE outside of Keller to stick out in my mind. I want Lowery to play better. Much better. He had shit going on right before the 1st pre-season game, so I'm expecting him to bounce back strong. OL depth. Gholston (tho, after watching the 1st pre-season game several times, I did see where he could have made a play and/or could've made a sack). Clowney and Stuckey. Of course Sancho. Players who I think need to show that they belong in this league: Ihegdibo(sp?) and Woodhead.
They make roster cuts after this game, I believe. I think 5 gotta go. So I don't think he's gonna be able to even make it to week 3.
I'm looking for a lot of warnings about 4 hour erections, dizzyness, oilly discharge, suicidial tendencies, and drowsiness. I expect to see some really crummy uninspired football by the veterans with some young players who are fighting for a job running around like nuts either making plays or missing them completely. I would like to see enough coordination in the starting offensive units to allow Sanchez and Clemens to either succeed or fail based on their ability to run some drives on O. Not sure we get it as I suspect the OL will be more out of sync than the DLines on both teams.
