Thoughts? Will signing Welker be a double win for the Jets?

If he comes here, I will be extremely surprised.

    Pass.

Welker will be catching some 30 ball for 480 yards and 2 TDs if Nacho is throwing at him. He has to know that too. Brady and Patriots offense make him what he is now. If both Gronk and Hernandez didn't have injury last season, he would have seen considerably less playing time.

I think the odds of Welker taking less money to play on a bad team are rapidly approaching 0.

We don't have the money. If I were him, I would give the Denver Broncos a phone call

This won't ever happen . I'm sorry to say it to because I would take him if the opportunity presented itself but we don't have cap and. He wants to play for a team that knows Who their QB is... plus I doubt he likes us to much.

You guys are missing the big picture.

NO he will not sign with the JETS.

NOR should we want him here if we are rebuilding/retooling.

The reason why this is a story is, hopefully, it gets him out of NE. He is getting up there in age, but for the past 8 years he has been Brady's safety net and the one common denominator for that offense up in Foxborough.

With the injury history of their two TE's, I would be very happy to see Welker sign elsewhere... maybe, just maybe, that NE offense begins to slow down.

Oh this is assuming the Jets would be willing to pay Welker. Will Wes do as well on the field here as with the Patriots? No of course not but I'd bet he'd help out Sanchez quite a bit. Of course that's also assuming there's anything left in Sanchez tank.

Fine by me. I want Welker with the Patriots.

It would, but the Jets have bigger needs and too much tied up at WR with Holmes and having used a 2nd on Hill already. I expect the Jets to roll with Holmes, Hill, Kerley and maybe Braylon Edwards next year.

I hope Welker goes to another team. I don't think the Pats offense will be quite as prolific without him. Although if they get Amendola who knows.

Brady makes Welker better than he is. I do not want him unless Brady comes with the package and we all know that's not happening.

Nacho will turn him into Stephen Hill quickly.

Nacho is a magician. A reverse magician in fact. Whatever he touches, turns into shit. Nice job Nacho

For a team missing a few pieces Welker would be great.
To a team like ours, where we are in a rebuilding mode, no way.

Get younger and build through the draft.

Imagine the awkwardness between Rex Ryan and Welker upon their initial meeting...

"Um, yeah coach? Sorry about that foot stuff a couple of years ago."

"Hey, that's OK Wes. I don't hold grudges. Just do laps until you throw up, then do five more, and see me in my office."

If Welker leaves NE, I think it will be a situation where another team with a top QB picks him up. Welker could come close to his NE production, I think, if he's catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, etc.

Ultimately both the Patriots and Welker know that the best spot for him is right here. Hopefully that line of thought prevails.

His best option (other than the Pats) would be Manning and Denver, but I don't see them having the money to get him.

I think the only real threat the Pats have for losing him is Indy. They would probably love to get a safety net slot receiver for Luck, and Indy has alot of money to spend cap-wise.

Bill Belichik to Wes Welker: A slot WR isn't worth big money. Go check it out and see for yourself. I have 3 years and $12 million waiting for you whenever you want it.
