Two game stretch coming up that will probably dictate whether we draft in the top 8 positions or top 15. It’s also pathetic that I’m worrying about the draft before the halfway point of the season.
I'm rooting for Darnold surviving the year and the best DP we can get to salvage the 2018 season. Wins or losses are for the most part meaningless in any other context.
Hopefully we can get Robby back to add a semblance of big play ability. I would like to see some creativity from the offensive side of the ball, but I have a feeling that it won't because Bowles is making Bates be ultra-conservative. Maybe get some first and 10 playaction? Some quick hitting slants over the middle? Some crossing routes? Literally anything to scheme our guys open maybe? Our offensive scheme at the moment blows.
I agree if they get just a little healthier. I expect them to fight to the death in this game. This game could decide Bowles' future. A win here and a win vs BUFF things change quickly and they get healthy for the stretch run after the bye. Guys like Adams, McClendon, and Maye will reflect Bowles' status within the locker if they lose these next two and that could determine Bowles' future for next year. IMO. Line is +3.
The Dolphins stink. No doubt in my mind we win that first game if Herndon stretches the ball one more foot. If we had a legit NFL offense I'd pick us to win by 2 TDs ... but we can't beat a HS team with the guys we're putting on the field now. Unfortunate for us.
Too much info and enthusiasm with this post, @Brook! This is a MUST-WIN game for Todd Bowles and the Jets. In fact, the Dolphins AND Bills games are. If Bowles doesn't head into the BYE week at (5-5), he should be fired so the team can re-group and try something new the final 6 games. I almost made a thread about it: Which would you prefer as a Jets fan? Going (3-7) and Bowles being fired, or going (5-5) and him staying? It is a little too negative-minded to make as a thread though.
We have our franchise QB. The result won’t matter much. Bowles isn’t our guy. The quicker Johnson brothers see it the better.
83F for Sunday in Miami means the Jets will be in their dark unis. If the D spends too much time on the field because the offense can't get shit going, this will be another loss.
