This will be the first ever 49ers at Texans game. These teams' only other meeting came in Week 17 of the 2005 season on a muddy field in San Francisco. The 49ers won that game 20-17 in overtime to finish 4-12. Houston dropped to 2-14. The loss gave the Texans the 1st selection in the 2006 draft.
I'm at the Pats-Bucs game now, well in the hotel lobby to be precise, but I've been down to the stadium and it's already mobbed. Just 2h30m to kickoff, or thereby.
Maybe you will get to meet FirstTimeCaller there! Hope that you get to see an exciting game....unfortunately, it might be pretty boring. ats_suck::gpc:
The Rams and Colts used to be division rivals. From 1953-66 they were in the Western Conference. In 1967 the Western Conference was divided into two divisions. The Baltimore Colts and Los Angeles Rams each went into the Coastal Division along with San Francisco and the 1st-year Atlanta Falcons. The Rams and Colts remained in the Coastal Division in 1968 and 1969. In 1970, the Colts moved to the AFC. The Rams and Colts haven't been real rivals since. Imagine playing a 14-game regular season, starting 11-0-2 and not qualifying for the postseason? It happened in 1967. That year only the four division winners qualifed for the playoffs. Arguably, the Rams and Colts were the two best teams in pro football. Neither would win a playoff game. Both finished 11-1-2. The Rams outscored their opponents 398-196. The Colts outscored their opponents 394-198. The teams tied 24-24 in their first meeting. The second meeting was the season finale. The Rams won it 34-10 in Los Angeles.
Spags is working his brains out to coach the Rams and they are worse than terrible this year. The only reason for any fans to pay $$$ to show up today is to see Peyton Manning sling it. All I have to say is, it was a HUGE gift that Rex Ryan was turned down for the Rams HC job....and that poor Spags got stuck instead...he has earned every penny of his paycheck, and then some.
Kluwe with a 19 yard punt from his own 20 and while the game is scoreless, the Steelers are winning the field position battle. The Vikings had two near fumbles earlier that were returned for TDs, but both times (first the PR and then Favre) the Viking was down.
Well, he doesn't suck that much. Amazing that with Hou's run blocking, he was able to score on the goalline...they did run it outside though.
