I cannot see Sanchez starting next week. The game is at home and the crowd will be a mess if Sanchez even sees the field. I'm hoping for McElroy, but Rex has embarrassed himself by keeping Tebow as the backup. It's going to look pretty bad if Rex skips over his backup for the third string. The only thing Rex will be able to say is that they feel that McElroy is more important to the future of the team or that they saw what Tebow could do in that drive against Tennessee. Although maybe Cromartie is the best option since he can do everything else
Interesting decision. My hunch is Tebow so they can wind up shopping him at the end of the season. I know many of you are hoping that McElroy is the answer but he isn't.
as long as it is not suckchez, I would be happy and will watch the game. I prefer McElroy but it will probably be tebow. If the team is shut-out in the first half again then McElroy should start the 2nd half and vs Buff. I would like to see extended time for McElroy to see if he can start next yr and be an adequate game manager.
At this point, I'm willing to pick a random name out of a hat & give him some snaps. Unless it's Mangold, take anybody from any postion & try something there @ QB. Train this person to NOT throw to the other team & it's already progress. McElroy, Tebow, some random practice squad guy who played QB @ high school ... please please please just put some one else in.
Manish says expect a QB change this week Still gonna say mark starts though, just because he "gives us the best chance to win" like Rex always says.
MT:Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 If Rex goes back to Mark, he'll risk losing credibility in the locker room. All in all, it sounds like, I'm told, Greg will start.
I think its going to be McElroy. I think Rex is really pissed at Sanchez. He was given a million chances to win that game last night and he failed. You can blame it on the receivers when they aren't getting open but forcing throws into triple coverage off your back foot is inexcusable. Can anyone confirm for me that it will cost 17.1 million to cut Sanchez after this season. I thought it was much less then that.
I'd be surprised if McElroy starts mainly because no matter what they say publically, McElroy is still paying the price for his comments about the team during the off season. They'll start Tebow or just to show the fanbase who's boss, trot Sanchez out there one more time. If that happens, you'll see perhaps the ugliest reception of a home team in the history of the NFL.
I voted McElroy but Cromartie would be interesting to watch. Cromartie takes the snap from Nick Mangold and throws the ball to . . . . . Cromartie.
I know it sounds crazy but why would Sanchez think it's inexcusable? Sanchez did the exact same thing against the Cardinals, sat down 2 quarters, became the starter again while McElroy had his jersey taken away. Sanchez has been crapping the bed like this so much but there's never any consequences for his actions. He just trots out there next drive & next game like the world smells like roses. No punishment/consequences for jackass moves .... increases how often jackass moves occur. Not surprising at all Sanchez just doesn't give a damn & flings the ball without even paying attention.
I think Greg Mcelroy will get the start. Time to play smart and say F you to the other 2 QBs who are at the top of this circus. It looks to me like Rex wants nothing to do with Tebow from the beginning. Give Greg 2 starts to see if he can play QB at this level. I'd also like to see a full game from him to see if his arm strength actually has improved or how defenses playagainst him and his peashooter. Jake Steinberg tweeted this morning that it looks like Greg will get the start but that could be BS its early in the week.
I dont agree with that. You think Sanchez likes playing poorly. You think he slept fine last night and doesn't care how bad he looked. I dont doubt that he wants to win and play well. Job security or not no one wants to be known as the weak link of a team.
I think McElroy will start, but that we will see a heavy does of the wildcat. Essentially, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2-QB system in the final two weeks to evaluate what each is capable of. I would estimate something like 2:1 in favor of McElroy snaps to Tebow running the read-option/spread/wildcat/whatever you want to call it
Never said that Sanchez likes playing poorly. I said Sanchez is not gonna bother fixing stupid moves in-game when there's no consequences for failure. We agree that throwing off his backfoot into triple coverage is bad but maybe Sanchez feels that he's got the arm to pull it off consistently & just had bad luck. Maybe Sanchez thinks the defense just got lucky & he nearly won the game for us. Doesn't it make sense he continues with these tactics unless Rex rips him a new a-hole or puts him on the bench?
Lol @ Cromartie. He's the second best everything on this team. I voted Sanchez.... Hear me out. I already see it coming. Rex is going to bench him. Sanchez is going to say it's had a profoundly humbling impact on him. He's going to stay on the team (an improving team, that I believe if we can land a Mingo and talented RB, and Revis, Hill, Keller, and maybe Holmes all come back healthy. I believe, provided our young players keep getting better and our drafts don't bust... I believe with right QB (Vick) we have an incredibly high ceiling.) Reports surface that he's drastically improved in the off-season, and we dont pick a viable QB up in the off season. We go 9-7 and miss the playoffs with a good team, and its all in the name of contracts and money. Suicide in the tri-state area skyrockets.
