the jets have martin, blaylock, houston and butler the jets didnt play butler but they did sign him after martin knee problem and he can still run and so can blaylock and so can houston well he didnt play much so he is questionable but i think he has the potensal to be a great back and if the jets drafted a running back the would have 5 RB assuming that they dont release butler for more money for the cap

that is why i think we sould wait until the 07 draft instead of wasting a pick in the 06 draft

And we've got Marco Cavka so we don't need an offensive lineman.

Houston should be the featured back, this guy really impressed me last season.

i agree that I think RB can wait one more year, however...

if we can somehow acquire another R1 pick (Abe?) or two R2 picks, I would absolutely love to draft Lendale White then an OL and another OL in R2.

White learning under Martin would benefit him enormously and there's no doubt he'd beat out both Houston and Blaylock on the depth chart, thus taking over when Martin is finished... which hopefully is this year.

    cheers

Now that Martin has taken a pay cut, we're set at RB for 2006. We all agree we're not looking like a playoff team next year, so why bother bringing a RB when a rookie RB in 2007 could start from day 1. RB is pretty much the only position that doesn't require grooming.

The more and more i think about it, we dont need a HB. After releases and trades we need Offensive lineman to the obvious positons, defensive end, DT, and maybe a LB. I love mario williams he is tremendously talented.

guess what weve had the luxury of having curtis martin, hes a future HOF and a FRANCHISE BACK!

blaylock, houston i dont know why you even mentioned butler, if he was good enough hed have been on the field. theyre change of pace backs someone who runs differently then your FRANCHISE BACK!

curtis martin is my favorite player of all time but the time to find his replacement is now. (williams, maroney, white)

but i do agree with you in a sense because i believe we should draft a RB 1st rd or not at all. either way a QB or RB must be taken this yr in the 1st rd. I myself am alot more for the latter cuz we can bolster our OL by trading down. and its alot easier for a rookie RB to come in and prove his worth than a QB.

otherwise we'd make a drastic trade to move up or take our chances on cutler. which im not against nabbing a signal caller id just prefer a RB

that is a good point, different opinions agree on something.

i dont know its just ive seen deangelo williams in person tear people up so i guess im biased.

plus i'm more of a run to open up the pass guy myself so thatd explain alot.

There was a time this off-season when I really wanted D. Williams. I wouldn't mind that, still, but I have since moved past that. We need SO much in SO many spots that I can't help but step back and look at the big piocture and I don't think it consists of an early rd. RB this year. However, I wouldn't shy away from a later rd. guy if the staff sees something in them and I have a feeling that we will draft an RB at some point in the draft.

yeah i'm jus partial now cuz im looking for the next franchise RB. if we dont take one in the 1st rd i'd rather not take one at all

im also an FSU fan an wouldnt mind seeing leon washington in green and white. except lorenzo booker will be a better pro anyways just cuz he doesnt lack size and is even faster than washington.

except washington is a 2nd RD/3rd RD pick and we shouldnt be picking a RB near there if not already in the 1st

It seems like the board forgot how awesome our rushing attack was in 05. I mean we had gamebreaker run of a whopping 49 yards (once by Martin). Our leading rushers in the YPC were B.J. Askew and Chad Pennington with 4.5. NFL total rushing attack of 1328 yards by our current RB's. We're set. You are right.WE NEED HELP PEOPLE!

We all know we need RB help but more than OL help or QB help? I don't think so. The only back that seems to have the franchise moniker is Bush and , not that I want him, we won't get him. EM won't let Curtis run if he doesn't produce so comparing the upcoming season to last is moot. If the line gets attention we SHOULD be better. At least a bit.
