Anyone else affected? I’m unfortunately of the generation where I’m lost without google maps so I almost got pretty turned around in NYC and NJ today traveling around for work.
Just got it back… was in sos from 130-9. Strangely, my wife and I are in same plan, both have iPhones , and she never lost signal.
I don't have Verizon, but I couldn't make phone calls to anyone who did. Ha, I didn't get a cell phone until April of 2005, and that was only because I got strongarmed into it (I'm always in the woods). That's reasonable, sure, but that's really all I ever used it for if I could help it. It was Nextel because it was the only thing that would work at the time where I live. I had about one glorious hour of minutes a month. People won't say to me, "What's your number?", and I would go, "Why? So you can call me?!" I can't say that has changed much.
Pretty much the same timing for my wife and me. It's odd that it was both so widespread geographically and hit-and-miss in terms of who it affected locally.
Don't forget to go to your MyVerizon app, and submit your request for a $20 refund. You'll see a link under "Take action." The refund is made over 1-2 billing cycles.
Mine was out from noon to about 4pm when I got my data back, but I didn't get SMS or voice back until like 8pm.
