Who do you think are some jets players that haven't gotten enough credit(both among jet fans and the general population) for how they've stepped up or played this season? -Marque Douglas -Pouha -Brad Smith (although i think jet fans realize this) -Bryan Thomas -Feely/Weatherford -Brandon moore (everyone mentions mangold,d'brick, faneca and sometimes woody. dude has been a rock and opens up alot of holes on the right side) I'd put david harris up there but most people realize his impact amongst jet fans and more outsiders are taking notice now. he's not so under the radar. I think all the guys above have had exceptional seasons but are never mentioned. Everyone was worried about our D-line especially after jenkins wnet down but they've played well with what they have.
Hartsock I have watched each game almost every day of the week they were played and the past few weeks, his blocking has been pretty damn key in our running game.
Mike Devito (had a huge game against SD, and has been solid especially late in the year) and little Jimmy Leonard, that guy is made of hustle. Not the most physically gifted safety out there, but the dude works hard and shows great awareness.
Bryan Thomas I've noticed lately the guy is all over the place making tackles, and he seems much faster. Cotchery is a given, he's the true go to guy I feel like Brandon Moore is a given as well, the guy is a rock solid run blocker and pretty much has been, and his pass protection is getting better, he's probably the most underrated RG in football.
Pouha and Thomas are at the head of the list. Especially Pouha. Everybody thought the Jets were dead when Jenkins went down and Pouha has done everything Jenkins did when he was at his best. That is one position where we have all the depth we need.
Leonhard, Piouha, Sheppard, Strickland...sorry i don't agree with Weatherford, he is horrible, we should have kept Kapinos...
Bryan Thomas is the big one IMO. He gets no credit, but has been really solid this year, especially the last few weeks
What's always funny is when they announce the O-Line on TV - "4 First Rounders and Brandon Moore." It almost sounds as if he was dropped off by the short bus in front of the stadium.
JIM LEONARD HE'S A PRIME TIME PLAYER BABYYYYY </Dick Vitale> Seriously though this little fucker has got some balls, I watched him with the Ravens and he's stepped his game up, Honorable mention to Bryan Thomas as well
I think Revis gets so much publicity (and rightfully so, of course), but the other corners, Lito, Strick, and Lowery have played well also. And Eric Smith has had a great year blitzing.
Two guys I can't believe not feeling much love: Mike DeVito on defense and Tony Richardson on the offensive side. I think Sione Pouha deserves a shot out too, filling in for the big guy. Remember, we all thought we were fucked after that shitty Bills game back in October.
Braylon Edwards. Too much bitching about his 4 drops (although I'll admit they were costly) and not enough praise as to what he does for this team. He's been just about perfect for us on 3rd down slant routes, he is a GREAT blocker, and there is no chance that Cotchery would have been as effective as he was this season without Braylon being here to take care of the #1 CB.
Unsung play of the year: How about Weatherford's punt to the 3-yard line that had Philip Rivers throwing from his own end zone at the end of the 3rd quarter there? He's inconsistent, but he nailed his best punt at the absolute perfect time.
