There was a thread with this info before but I can't find it. Figured instead of having 10Million threads on the subject..... After 3 games this week, -The Vikings game was basically letting them go at it. -The Indy game was lopsided (Did we expect anything else) -The Zona game was well officiated So, What is in store for us today? Referee: 23 ? Jerome Boger Umpire: Garth DeFelice Head Linesman: 91 ? Jerry Bergman Line Judge: 32 ? Jeff Bergman Field Judge: 88 ? Scott Steenson Side Judge: 73 ? Joe Larrew Back Judge: 25 ? Bob Waggoner The CHARGERS fan who posted it pointed out the high fives
That was a fuckin fumble!! How the hell do they OVERTURN the call on field when it is not 100%.!!! Bullshit!!!
They've been good today but there is no way you overturn the call on the field there... It was a fumble or inconclusive @ best IMO. They ruled he didn't have possession long enough after he made the catch.. That's BS. You Have possession, you fumble....it's a fumble
Chargers have been having every flag pretty much go against them.... we have been flagged what twice? and of course the fumble was overturned....
It was a bad call, at worst it was so close that the ruling ont he field had to stand. Thankfully it didn't cost us.
How about Norv Turner after the Sproles fumble being at least 10 yards on to the field standing right next to the pile of players practically almost recovering the fumble himself and guess what... NO FLAGS
The fumble was a tough call. It really was 50/50. Imagine this was in our end zone and SD guy recovered this ball. I am positive we would all say, without exception, it was an incomplete pass. The guy got the ball got hit, ball hit the ground, never fully had possession, incomplete pass. I don't see a problem with the call, but with that said, if it is 50/50 ruling on the field should stand. So, from that perspective we got the worst of it, but really this was a 50/50 call. The refs were pretty good today otherwise. The certainly did not tolerate bulling tactics of SD, and we got a lot of free yards because of their unsportsmanlike conduct, refs were right on top of it.
I have to respectfully disagree ... I thought the call was obscene. Not only did he have possesion, but he was cleary running with the ball and preparing to make a cut. These days in the NFL, the game is so slanted toward the offense, they look for any excuse imaginable to call passes incomplete. It started with the ludicrous Tuck-Rule call and it just keeps getting worse. And like you said ... there's supposed to be CLEAR VISUAL EVIDENCE to reverse a call made on the field. That evidence didn't exist. TERRIBLE reversal.
