It is All Black boss. This game was featured even before the season started. Wish we didn’t abandon the black pant white shirt combo which was our lucky outfit on our 4 game winning streak.
I still find it bizarre that each week Woody stands there staring into his uniform closet trying to choose a goddamn combo. I'm glad choosing the right tie is not part of the process. Get off my fucking lawn!
I doubt these stats were taken, but I have to assume this is the first season the Jets have not worn a green jersey all the way into November. Hard to believe, really.
They wore all white at home during the Walton years back when the home teams usually wore the dark jerseys. Off the top of my head I don’t think they wore green jerseys at all during the 1987 season….. EDIT I checked nfl uniform gridiron database - they only wore green jerseys for 1 game that season out of 15. ( strike year ) Also they are scheduled to wear green jerseys against Buffalo next week.
Anyone else attend a strike game? I went to one of them. Maybe we went just to spit at the scab Gastineau. Although even then, i knew he broke ranks just to afford Brigitte Nielsen.
If they get their asses kicked, they should pile those uniforms at the 50 after the game and make a bonfire. Nip it in the bud. We don't need no green pants funk with this team.
Im not a fan of the green pants but tomorrow they are wearing all black - not green. Personally I like white pants with green jerseys are simply all white with green trim….
Good information! Thank you. I did not realize they wore white at home during Walton's years either. Pretty interesting.
Yes they started that trend in 1985 because Walton said they had a better win loss record wearing white jerseys - I guess he was superstitious. By the end of his reign in 1989 the team was bad and that all white look in the dreary looking meadowlands really began to get old. When Coslet took over in 1990 they went back to green at home with a slight wrinkle in the design adding slight black trim around the numbers and black face masks …..which lasted until Parcells brought them back to the original “Namath uniform design”….
Let's be real. If we kept wearing the white jersey/black pants combo, we'd eventually be getting the Dallas Cowboys road team treatment of being forced to wear non-white jerseys when the home team chooses white for themselves.
