Rich Cimini The Jets are signing former Fresno State safety Dean Clark as an undrafted free agent, per source. He scores a nice guarantee – $160,000. #jets
Kansas WR Quentin Skinner to the #Jets, per source. The former Jayhawk gets 185,000 guaranteed. Skinner, 6-5, 195 pounds, averaged over 22 yards per catch and contributes on special teams.
The Jets are signing Missouri QB Brady Cook as an undrafted free agent. He was the 17th-ranked QB in The Beast — joins up with college teammate Armand Membou with the Jets. He's 6-2, 214 and a good athlete: Ran a 4.59 40 at the combine with a 37-inch vertical. Threw for 2,535 yards, 11 TD and 2 INT last year. Ran for 223 yards and 5 TDs.
Nice signing. Tall, good hands, apparently has “good football IQ,” but isn’t physical and doesn’t have a quick burst. Sounds like a good backup/ST candidate.
The New York Jets are signing Fatorma Mulbah (NT/DT, West Virginia) as a rookie free agent. Had a lot of interest elsewhere but this was the perfect opportunity.
Former Florida DE/gunner Ja'Markis Weston is signing with the #Jets on a deal that includes $200,000 guaranteed, per source.
Damn, I just saw Nick Nash signed with the Atlanta Falcons. I sure wish the Jets would’ve taken or signed him. I think he’s going to be a very good NFL player.
Maybe this and the 6/1 cutdown will supply the Jets with some critical missing pieces. Again, time is on our side so no need to panic.
Signings so far QB Brady Cook, Missouri RB Donovan Edwards, Michigan WR Jamaal Pritchett, South Alabama DI Fatorma Mulbah, West Virginia EDGE Ja'Markis Weston, Florida CB Jordan Clark, Notre Dame CB Quentin Skinner, Kansas S Dean Clark, Fresno State
I am super disappointed we didn't get Desmond Watson (who joined Bucs as an UDFA). Wasn't invited to combine, not on ESPN's list of DTs Dude is a beast. 464 pounds; 36 reps of 225. AND he's supposedly surprising agile. We could have used him as a short yardage specialist. Would be like an extra lineman in there. Also a gadget player. AND he's supposedly surprising agile. How is it a pro team can't look at a guy like that and say we'll get him to 400ish Guy could crush the will of any OL
Would be easy. Lose the weight, get more time; get more time, get more money He is in a different league size and strength wise. Q would look like a linebacker next to him And just imagine if he ever sacked a QB; QB would be traumatized
Jordan Clark, the DB we signed from Notre Dame, is Ryan Clark’s kid. Another rookie with good lineage.
I can't believe he didn't get drafted. Vilma linked me that kid and I thought he looked fantastic overall. That is disappointing for sure.
