1) The block on the end-around....knocked a D-Lineman on his ass. Nice. 2) Immediately after the Stuckey catch in the endzone, Sanchez was screaming for the extra point squad to get on the field. Very heads-up non-rookie kind of thing to do. It is hard not to get excited about this kid. A career ending injury can't be too far down the road....this is the Jets after all.
Cmon DBJ, even YOU can't be that jaded man. Hell, we're both part of the original Darksider corps around here but for the foreseable future, can you please think happy thoughts? These ain't the SOJ's man. Not by a long shot..
I like the zip he puts on the ball, even on the screen pass to Stuck he threw a laser. Your right he knew the TD was going to be overruled and was rushing to get something going there.
Cman - I say that is jest, but it is hard to not have those bad thoughts creep in. Seriously, I have not been this excited about this team in.....hell I might never have been this excited about this team. Sanchez and this defense are the real deal. I hope it stays that way for a long time.
My favorite thing I saw about Dirty today was when he hit Cotchery for that 22 yarder in the third quarter. He looked off the D his whole drop and suddenly turned his shoulders and ripped it in the perfect spot for Cotch. I went crazy. So many rookies telegraph. I rewound it like 4 times and kept explaining to my wife how rookie QBs don't do that. I musta screamed 10 times that IT WAS A BIG LEAGUE PLAY. I'm really, really proud of the kid and happy for him.
Its a new era boys, time to start thinking like one! Were gonna see a lot of hype by the media this week!
LOL true darksiders never let themselves get too high! The thing that impresses me about Sanchez is that he improves a little bit each game. He is starting to really get slick with looking off the receivers now. And those frozen ropes give me goose bumps... I cant believe some of the so called experts questioned his arm strength.
Yes. Definitely worth the Susan B. Anthony dollar, 2 randoms buttons, piece of lint, and chewed up pencil we spent to trade up for him so far. Thanks again, Eric!
I"ll add #3 Bright kid, learns quick. As the game goes on, he seems to go from just keeping up to staying one step ahead. Cant believe he is just 22 with so few college games under his belt. I was originally against grabbing a QB this year and I am so glad to be wrong. This kid has a lot of upside.
im starting to think this kid might be pretty good. he played very well today and other than the nonexistant first half which wasnt necessarily his fault and a couple of REALLY bad throws he played pretty well today. i enjoy watching him play. there you guys go i know you have been waiting for me to say it for awhile now. im still not completely sold though
I am pissed that the announcers didn't mention(or notice) sanchez throwing that block even when it was clearly seen on the replay.
The thing I really like about Sanchez is that he doesn't really remind me of anybody. He's a unique character in terms of what he brings to the field and that probably means we have something very special there given his early success.
