Anybody else planning any mini-vacations or such to training camp? I'm actually planning to take a week off from work solely to watch 4.5 hours everyday of Jets football. Also, anybody have the start dates?
The one year I went out to watch it averaged about 95 degrees in the shade. I'll take my TC news from you guys who are young and hardy and can handle that kind of abuse. I prefer to sit on the porch with a mint julep and harrass passersby with friendly greetings.
I think that starts next year. I think this is the last year in Hofstra. I go at least once a summer with my dad. It's a short drive from Brooklyn. I have a great time going. Taking pictures, watching practice, possible autographs, it's a good time.
yea i went 2 times last year, its about a hour and a half drive, but its worth it...last year i met curtis and got his auto on an authentic game ball.
Ahh c'mon man.... We'd love to hear your rumblings regarding the size of our DL in the long island heat:up:
That'd be my stomach rumbling as I have absolutely no desire to get into discussions about the Jet's deficiencies with a crowd of heat-maddened diehard fans with shaved heads and J-E-T-S painted in green paint on their face.
haha i painted my face for the jets vs oakland game at the end of last season! that game was awsome to be at!
I used to live in Jersey City, and made the trip to the night practice the year we got Vilma-- absolutely unreal! It was amazing. I'll probably go this year. I'll be sure to wear a shirt that has "BIG COTCH" on the back, so everyone from here knows who I am!! I wonder how many people will throw things at me!
Mmmm. 3 ounces of good Kentucky bourbon, 4 ounces of spring water, 3 sprigs of mint leaf, tablespoon of sugar. Mix at all up in a blender and serve over ice. Some people like to crush the ice in with the other stuff but I was raised with ice cubes chilling the mix down and that's what I like. There is no better drink on earth on a hot day. Especially if you can find some shade to enjoy it in.
i talked to a representative from the Jets at a charity event, and he told me 2009 but most likely 2010.
Good freaking god. I'm not giving those bozos 2007, 2008 AND 2009 to make this team competitive. They've got 30 days to pony up and make it clear we're winning yesterday or I'm gonna bring out the harsh language!
Sorry guys, I just cant make the training camps this year. hmy: It's a bit of a trip (30+ hours on a plane ). I guess I'll have to wait for the updates on the JETS forum.
first off, here are the dates for minicamps. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2857041 In case you're too lazy, that's rookies over mother's day and everyone in mid-June. I would absolutely love to go, but I'm upstate and that drive depletes my desire. I am definitely one of the people that peruse those threads religiously, though, so I look forward to your coments.
But see, you can't go. They don't let the little people in- minicamps are closed to the general public..
jets are moving to jersey in june 2008 and yeah mini camp not open to public only thing we have to go on is newspaper writers
