Would have bumped the old thread but couldn't find it.

"A man named Joseph Dion says he is the person identified in Jose Canseco's book as "Max," the person Canseco claims was a steroids dealer he introduced to Alex Rodriguez, Sports Illustrated reported on its Web site Friday.

"That's gotta be me," Dion was quoted as saying during a Tuesday interview with SI.

Dion said he trained Rodriguez for four years when A-Rod was with Seattle. Dion denied Canseco's account in "Vindicated" that "Max" was a fan of steroids.

"That's really, really funny because I am the one person that hates steroids," Dion was quoted as saying. "I'm against it 100 percent. And, A-Rod, at the time that I trained him -- and this I swear to God -- was 100 percent against steroids. He was one of the hardest working guys, and most natural guy, that I've met in my life. He hated steroids. We talked about it."

If he, as he says, is the one person that hates steroids, why would he assume he's the "steroids dealer" Canseco was talking about?

Probably because he was introduced to Arod by Canseco and later told Canseco that Arod had signed on. Of course he would have meant that Arod signed on to be trained by him and not to get steroids from him. The fact that Canseco refuses to say who it is makes it all that more believable.

Canseco now has the chance to deny it and say who it was if it wasn't him. So far they haven't returned calls. Let's see if he ever does.

A more in depth article on it today.

" Dion said that Canseco is partially accurate in his portrayal of Max. Yes, Dion is a Canadian-born trainer who knew Canseco during his Toronto Blue Jays days. And it's true that Dion moved back to Miami, where he was raised, and was introduced to Rodriguez by Canseco in the late '90s. Dion said he worked with Rodriguez for four years when the current Yankee played for the Seattle Mariners.

But Dion adamantly denies Canseco's written account of Max as a "fan of steroids" who began working with Rodriguez specifically to juice the young phenom's body with illicit performance-enhancing drugs.

"That's really, really funny because I am the one person that hates steroids," Dion said. "I'm against it 100 percent. And, A-Rod, at the time that I trained him -- and this I swear to God -- was 100 percent against steroids. He was one of the hardest working guys, and most natural guy, that I've met in my life. He hated steroids. We talked about it."

On Friday, Canseco returned a call from SI regarding Dion's claim but said, "Ask him to call me. I want to talk to him before I comment on it." An associate close to Canseco confirmed that Dion is "Max" in the book.

^^That seems to say this is indeed the guy.

This was the first relevant thread that came up when I searched the forum for Canseco. I didn't feel this really deserved its own thread.

Anyway, this douche is now sorry about his naming names. Perhaps that's because everyone in the world hates him?

I hope Bonaduce knocks his dumb ass out.
