I have been offered TJ Houshmanzadeh for Lee Evans, personally i like Evans better because he is the guy in Buffalo and Holcomb will do alright if he can stay on his feet, TJ is number 2 to Chad Johnson so I think I would be better off with Evans Thoughts?
Depends. I would do it if you have better WRs in fron of Evans. If Evans is your #1 or #2 then I think it is more important to gamble on him because he is a #1 option as opposed to TJ where he is kinda locked into his production.
It's hard to tell this early if the trade is worth doing or not. I'm probably being conservative but I say getting T.J would give you some steady fantasy points, we have no clue how things will work this year in buffalo but cincy has questions with carson palmer so it all depends on hidden variables.
Talent always comes first. Lee Evans is definetly more talented than T.J.. Evans will be Buffalo's primary target, unlike T.J. whos a #2 reciever. Quarterback-wise the Bengals do in fact dominate the Bills, but Palmer is questionable with his health (although he's making good progress). Bills have a better runningback to keep defenses from always double-teaming evans. I would feel the "safe" player here is evans. From my experience, and I dont know if this is a fact, but I find 2nd wide recievers' stats tend to fluctuate more than the #1 reviever. I think T.J. will get close to the 1,000 yard mark, but I see alot more TD potential with Evans.
I would do it, but I had TJ last year and he was a solid contributor to my squad. The big question in my mind is Palmer, if Palmer is healthy, I would go with TJ, if he is going to miss a few weeks, you can probably wait and get TJ for a lower WR that may contribute as much. Buffalo's O in my mind is McGahee, McGahee, McGahee. I dont like any of their receivers, but Evans will probably have a few big games, Who is their projected #2? Will Evans always be fighting double teams. You know TJ will never see a double.
I also have Larry Fitzgerald and Roy Williams, so right now I am not so worried about consistancy more of a sleeper than anything
If you only start two WRs I'd say Evans is better because you probably aren't going to use him much anyways but if you start 3, it would be nice to get a steady 8-12 points every week from TJ whereas you might get 2-25 with Evans.
