The Giants had one about 35 years ago. Now it's time for the Jets to burn their tickets too (or at least not buy them). Johnson is a joke. Tannenbaum is a joke. If they don't do whatever is necessary to bring a quality coach to this team then we should just write this team off. Let Woody stand on a street corner trying to sell his PSLs. They had a chance to get one good coach (Cowher) and blew it. Maybe they will have a chance at Parcells but he wouldn't want Tannenbaum in charge of personnel either. Spagnuolo may be good but I don't really want to see another inexperienced coach trying to learn the job as he goes. Basically, the only way I can describe this feeling is by saying "fuck it".
I don't like Woody Johnson and would support boycotting cause of how he messed up the stadium and the PSL and all of that but I like Tannenbaum.
I didn't send in any money for the playoff tickets, and I won't be renewing my season tickets either.
You could like GM's a lot if they bring good players to your favorite team. I've liked most of his draft picks, signings, and trades. Not all of them have worked out, but when you really look at his record, it's at least 75% positive.
I'm with you Don..... Tanny has proven to be a good guy with the cap but it was his decision to go out and get Favre. It was a decision 95% of us including me thought was going to work out. Favre was the worst starting QB in the NFL the last month so somebody should pay the price for that. If hiring Cowher means firing Tanny than so be it but if you Woody is going to sit there and not hire the best head coach available so he can keep his bean counter GM on board than I'm up for a boycott as well. I don't have tickets but I won't buy any merchandise or wear any of it.
I don't really agree that our roster is as strong as you seem to think it is. The D-line has no depth, the LB corps is poor overall and the DBs can't cover. There is no O-line depth, the receivers are overrated, there's no QB for the future, there's no TE with strong blocking ability. What's the point in painting a picture with incredible detail if it looks like crap when you take a step back and look at the whole thing?
