I think that much is pretty clear from the games we have seen so far. There are too many problems on both offense and defense for this team to go all the way. As such, I do not understand the argument that some JETS fans give that "Chad gives us the best chance to win." Chad is not going to take us anywhere of consequence, certainly not to a SB championship. He may win us a few games, and we may even sneak into the playoffs again. But Pennington WILL NOT get us a SB win. Pennington is not the future. Clemens might be the future. We need to find out before the end of the season to move forward. The switch needs to be made.
i agree seems like we took a step backwards . we let pats scoop up a bunch of free agents. we picked up scrubs like bowens and coleman. David barret is horrible. kerry rhodes looks like shit also. I guess we arent gonna pick up an o-lineman? we are just gonna sit on the season. im really pissed off now cause we spend a lot of money on season tickets and all off season we wait and for nothing..
I'm not saying they were SB quality anyways, but after watching the Pats last night against (a supposely AFC contender in the BOlts) and making them look like "Little sisters of the Poor" and the way the Jets played (more so in the 4th) against a D' like the Ratbirds in their home, I'm still think that the playoffs are a possibility, I think this team is better then their 0-2 start.
Some great reading comprehension skills on this board. Do you guys actually read posts, or just the titles?
"I think that much is pretty clear from the games we have seen so far. There are too many problems on both offense and defense for this team to go all the way." With a comment like that how can you not expect a Monday-morning ripping?
The whole team is dysfunctional. The offensive line still sucks, the defensive line still sucks. Thomas Jones was a waste of money. Don't get me wrong, he could be a great RB but not on this team. We can't open a whole for him to save our lives. We also wasted half our draft on a CB we didn't need. Revis, again, looks like he will be a great player but we don't need him until we can consistently stop the run. It's time to start putting the blame where it belongs and that is on the front office who made these decisions. Sure we will win a few games. We do play Buffalo and Miami after all but to even think about a championship is so far down the line it's barely a glimmer.
Completely disagree on the Revis comment. He's been one of the few constants thus far. He's a sure-tackler and doesn't really give up any big plays. Teams aren't throwing to his side all that much either. Let's assume for a second that you are right and that we didn't need Revis. I'm sure that the combination of Drew Coleman/David Barrett would look just as good, given the fact that Dyson is hobbling around, Poteat isn't seeing the field and Miller has been too injured to show us anything thus far. What have you seen to tell us that Revis IS NOT the guy for the starting CB slot?
Agree on Rhodes- totally in his sophmore slump thus far. If you looked at his play this year and told me that he should have been in the pro-bowl last year I'd laugh in your face. I don't care about what's happening up front- he's been out of position and burned on some plays, which carried over from crappy play in the pre-season.
actually KOZ its his 3rd year. i would like to think the poor play of the d line is affecting the whole defense but in pass plays rhodes doesnt have the same ballhawk mentality and has looked slow in adjusting to routes in zone coverage.
