we trade Abe to the Redskins and we get a draft pick and Ramsey that could very well happen what do you guys think?
No thanks. Ramsey is a has been that never really was. Why keep recycling lackluster talent? If we are trading, let's do what we can to either change positions in the draft (either move up for a QB, or down to stockpile,) or pick up a signifcant young player to improve us long-term.
I don't think the value is there. I like Ramsey's ability but right now the Redskins aren't getting a #2 or #3 pick for him which is what they would be getting if they include him in a package for John Abraham. I think the Jets can make a seperate trade for Ramsey.
It is hard to believe the Redskins would go into this draft without a first or second round pick. My guess is the deal would be Ramsey plus a third. I don't neccessarily have a problem with this, as I think Ramsey got a raw deal in DC, but it sure as hell sets up a confusing QB situation. Do we draft a QB (especially in round 1) with both Pennington and Ramsey on the roster?
IF, and I do mean IF, we acquire Ramsey, and right now the whole deal is a rumor with a bit of meat, than we will not draft a QB in round 1 with our #4 pick. That is not to say that we wouldn't go with somebody like a Drew Olsen or Brodie Croyle in the later rounds, but bringing in Ramsey is clearly being done as a move for him to duke it out with Chad. We do not do that and draft a Cutler, Leinart, or Young, too. BTW, this is not my favorite move in bringing in Ramsey, although with the protection scheme of our o-line, he is aptly named.
Absolutely not. We either draft a QB, or we bring in a veteran. We're not cutting Bollinger, and we're going to restructure pennington, so count it as 2 qbs right now. We draft a 3rd and then depending on penningtons ability, either he or bollinger starts while the rookie qb plays 3rd fiddle. That's the way it's going to go down in my crystal ball. Bollinger is too cheap and is a proven lackluster starter (which is actually saying something) with a potential upside. He only costs 450k this year. He showed some flashes last year. I think that the Jets might have an open competition between him and pennington in camp this summer. Plus, this is a totally new offense we're installing the 3rd in three years for the Jets. Clean slate for all qbs, including pennington, who I think just doesn't have the ability anymore. This is going to be interesting, I think. Pennington can blow smoke out his ass all he wants about how he's fine and all, but it's a bunch of bull. There's no way that he's "Fine" and if he actually is, then shame on me, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong... The best idea with any rookie is let them sit the first season at least prior to throwing them to the wolves.
YOU ARE NUTS PLEASE DONT POST ANYHING WITH RAMSY WASHINGTON OR ABE AGAIN> THE JETS CAN GET SO MUCH MORE THAN A SCRUB AND A 2ND AND 3RD PICK.
Hey JETS IN 2004, If you are going to bust on somebody's spelling, you should have the common sense to make sure that your post is grammatically correct so you don't end up on the wrong end of a nitpicking post as well. "English is not THIS hard of a language"?? How about you try "English is not THAT hard of a language". So maybe, and just maybe, English is THAT hard of a language to you as well. Last time I checked we were all here to post thoughts and news about the Jets, not to tear somebody apart for a simple spelling error nor prove that we are better spellers. Hopefully, you will settle down and be a little happier TOMARRO (sic)
